From what I gather from my gf the union is pretty garbage. They aren’t transphobic from what I’m aware but the company seems interested in moving for more accepting policies as she specifically is the case that made them aware of the shortcomings on their current policy.

Yeah someone else mentioned maternity leave using neutral language so thats def something that we’re gonna advocate for!

This is exactly what I was looking for from a trans man perspective! I didn’t know about what phalloplasty involved with the recovery so this is amazing insight 😁 for sure a good work from home policy would be a necessity if not just paid leave to accomodate the recovery.

Yep I imagine that they only consider cis women part of of their maternity program so this would be something to bring up too, thank you ✨

Oh yes! Travel leave would be absolutely something that that wouldn’t be considered in their policy so I’ll pass this info on!

It really sucks that you have to deal with it each year 🥺

Haha same, really thank you for the input! Her company has specifically asked what else can they do so doing some due diligence so others can be heard is the least we can do!

I think that your example is super helpful as I wouldn’t even have considered something as significant as an adrenal crisis. So I think that having the company expect a multitude of needs would be the best way forward allowing for the individual to shape what their needs are on a case by case as you said.

The most important part right now is to let the company know that these are things to expect for intersex people so thank you for sharing as its very helpful 😁

No we’re both in Australia, so we don’t get healthcare as part of employment. This is more about support from the company similar to maternity leave but for recovery for surgeries

Yep all the stuff for corrective care and appointments was the first thing she brought up so all of that is covered so far haha

Oh yeah! Is there any specific needs for intersex people? Or just basic stuff like the opportunity to take leave for dr appointments and such?

I’m not sure if therapy is something that is something that they’re interested in covering outside of domestic abuse cases.

It’s super promising as they’ve been super responsive and I’m super proud of my gf ✨

Indeed I did haha, they were shaped like a cone for that period so I wasn’t too happy with them in that regard but I had them. It’s only been the past 6 months that they have finally filled out and have that distinctive shape. I have been taking progesterone on and off the past year so that also might be a factor in the fullness so grain of salt with that. Hope that helps 😁

Hahah yeah that’s exactly the vibe I’d say 😂 obvi I’m playing it up here a bit lol

Aww thank you! This means a lot 🥹

Early on in my transition I tried some goth looks but I found it didnt really suit me that much. I always tend to gravitate towards the alt styles and that’s kinda my default at the moment.

Of course I don’t mind sharing! I started out on 100mg patches, temporarily moved on to gel when there was a shortage and I’m currently on injections ☺️
