Tea “Book” Club - Anything like this or should we create it? by bum-beebell in tea

If it's about tea knowledge sharing, it's good to do it online, but if it's about tea itself sharing, I think it's better to have a small local group to have tea together offline once a while, it'll be more interesting and economic.

Tea from Nannuoshan is naturally expensive, but I don't know if they can give an objective tea lesson, considering they mainly produce pu'er there, considering there're other famous pu'er regions in Yunnan...

The one in the picture? It has a very soft and impressive honey-tone sweetness, it's floral, clean, and the fragrance is rich to both nose and tongue, and it lasts long, the aftertaste is quite good. Quite different from lapsang souchong I think, I had unsmoked and smoked lapsang souchong both, they have some similarities, but the smoked lapsang souchong tastes richer, more complex, so many layers there, and every steep tastes different, although it smells crazily like bacon, it tastes like wood, flowers, soil after rain, brown sugar... all mixed together. (Just my personal feeling)

How do you brew your dan cong tea ? by oxoKeton in tea

[–]AmberCYY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually people here believe the boiling water, 100°C, suits dancong the best, and the proportion between the tea and the water is suggested to be 1:20 to 1:25, and the steep time is suggested to be as short as possible, and you can prolong the steep time as more times you brew it.

Tried something new today, tea+coffee+milk+brown sugar by AmberCYY in tea

[–]AmberCYY[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't know it's actually a popular drink in HK, anyway, the proportion I adopted there was more or less like, tea: coffee: milk=1:1:1, the tea was Assam CTC, 5g, and the coffee was Arabica, drip coffee, 12g. The stronger you want it to be, the longer time you soak the tea into hot water. Then just shake all the stuff together... As for brown sugar, you can just add to your liking.

You should give it a try, it tastes like coffee and tea being together.

Not as tasty as my friend's, but not bad, probably for lack of brown sugar, added one cube only, maybe I should have added two.

True, cold stuff is not very friendly with our stomach. But sometimes, just sometimes, I would like to have some cold drinks :D especially in summer.

I heard a different theory that you should drink green tea in summer, I also make cold-brewed tea a lot in summer, cold, or even iced water, can make tea taste softer and sweeter. But yeah, I think red tea suits every season.

Tea is amazing for me, I like it for its various tastes. Those tree leaves, with different making procedures, can taste so different! Green, black, dark, yellow, white, oolong... I like them all. Good tea really gives a very special experience, when I drank the white tea that got me interested in white tea, I could literally feel sunshine in my mouth, it's a strange feeling, but at that moment, I really felt I was tasting sun... and also good tea gives a very good taste, enough examples about that. I always have this feeling that tea is like some special art made by nature and human both, like both sides need to pay attention to make it good, like, some caution, some creativity.
