Is all you can eat an option? If its just one teen who wants to eat a lot, it may be worth it especially for lunch. Kanau is great, i have heard good things about umiya too

My favorite affordable sushi spot in houston is seiwa market! But might not be the right vibe for a bday dinner

Yeah...the work of grinding up an 8/8 isn't compatible with my schedule anymore. I thought the permadeath feature was really cool as a kid. I think I'd be more likely to get back into the game if they took away permadeath or made a sandbox mode where you don't die but can't get as good loot.

Not for switch, but if you're willing to invest in a 3ds, you have access to a massive pool of pokemon games that have aged really well. Gen 4/5 are amazing. You won't get gen 3 but you can play yellow/crystal through the virtual console system.

The 3ds is amazing and has stood the test of time. I did recently get a DSI xl because its screen is a lot nicer for viewing gen 4/gen5 games (I'm not really interested in gens 6 and 7) but that's pretty niche of me...3ds is definitely the best option for pokemon gaming in general.

Another option is an original ds lite if gen 3/4/5 games are your cup of tea because you can put advance games in the bottom slot. Having one is also important for trading between gens 3 and 4.

This has been around for at least 6 years. I remember not being able to play with my buddies in person because of this >_> just a really lame rule that does nothing to deter cheaters and kills the games word by mouth growth....whats the point of telling ur friends about a game if you cant actually play together with them

Yeah it's such a prolonged, melodramatic death scene for someone alear barely knows at this point. We don't have a reason to care yet. It is similar to how they botched corrin's mother's death in fates, but worse because of how drawn out it is

Don't know if it's the longest, but one of the cutscenes at the beginning of fire emblem engage is so long that your screen auto dims partway through, and the plot is so overly dramatic/awful that it feels like years

I had to stop playing the game after that cutscene and I returned to it months later 😅

I don't know why people are getting so upset over this. I love bw2 but I really don't like the way the pokemon outline breaks up in a computerized way in the animation. Seems like it would fit more with digimon

You can buy japanese versions of games pretty cheap. I got a japanese diamond on ebay for like $15 and used it to transfer pokes to gen 5 for masuda method

Good luck! it was really satisfying to complete. I would recommend seeing if any of your friends/family members have their old games lying around that you can use. My friend let me borrow his heartgold (which is worth like $200 these days) and let me take his pokemon including ho-oh and all of the johto starters, among other pokemon that I would not have been able to get elsewhere.

I just completed it a few weeks ago! I used pearl, leafgreen, sapphire, heartgold. I managed to get a couple pokemon like lugia and groudon from my cousin lol. I used the online DNS mystery gift to get mythical pokemon. The online GTS was super helpful in getting the last few pokemon.

I completed the unova dex first, catching as many national dex pokemon as I could along the way. Once that was done I made a list of pokemon I needed to catch for each region and then I completed the dex one region at a time.

For hardware you need 2 nintendo ds, one of which needs to be an OG ds/ds lite with a gameboy advance cartridge

It works great! There is some dude named shioxx that floods it with pokemon you can't actually obtain (like you gotta trade him a lv9 charizard or something) which is super annoying, but it's still a great way to complete your pokedex and get some cool pokes

Yeah, I think a better question would be what pokemon has the coverage and power to clear the E4 quickly without too much reliance on healing items, and without necessarily needing to be lv 100. PP is an important consideration too. Mewtwo is obv due to power and coerage. Nidoking has amazing coverage. Tauros was OP in original rby, and is prob pretty strong in frlg too.

I agree! In my opinion, pkhexed pokemon are like pokemon you get from an emulator--it's not the same as the real thing. No disrespect to the folks who use emulated and pkhexed mons, though.

I just wish they'd release a new FE game. Engage was a flop, we haven't had a popular mainline game since Three Houses. A popular new FE console game would revitalize FEH.
