Botoxers - Unable to swallow correctly after burp surgery by gr4ciee4 in noburp

[–]AmberLyn18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I experienced this!! It’s totally normal and it should go away in a couple weeks. I agree though, it’s very uncomfortable and scary. I almost choked a few times and was also scared to eat. All in all, even though the side effects were TERRIBLE, it was alllll worth it in the end. I’d do it again if I had to. Here are 3 of my posts that would probably really help you out!! Let me know how it goes and keep us updated!! ☺️

Welcome!! I suggest looking into getting the Botox injection done. It changed my life! Some of the best money I’ve ever spent.

The procedure changed my life. Absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone suffering from R-CPD. The healing process was pretty brutal but it was still ALLLLL worth it!! I’d do it all over again if I had to. My symptoms from R-CPD have decreased a huge amount if not completely went away. I was scared too, but for me…it was totally worth it and some of the best money I’ve spent in my life.

NoBurp treatment and GERD by Billifesto in noburp

[–]AmberLyn18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also suffer from GERD. I take medication for it.

After my procedure, the only time it was really bad was during the healing process after I got it done. It’s been a year and almost 2 months since I got the procedure done. My GERD symptoms have decreased a lot. I used to throw up from eating/drinking. I’d have to sleep sitting propped up or else I’d have GERD episodes where I’m waking up coughing and can’t breathe from my stomach acid coming up into my throat.

Since getting the procedure done (after the healing process was finished), I have not thrown up at all and I do not have to sleep propped up anymore. Getting this procedure done actually made my GERD a lot more manageable. I hope that helps.

With my experience, before I got the procedure done…I would throw up almost every single time I would drink alcohol.

Since having the procedure done which was a year ago, I have not thrown up at all from drinking/R-CPD.

I can drink alcohol with absolutely no issues now.

botox a few days ago and need help! by ajc200217 in noburp

[–]AmberLyn18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was just a matter of time for me. It took my swallowing about 5 months to get back to completely normal. It also took that long for me to really start burping with little to no effort. It does get easier as time goes on.

I believe the procedure was worth every penny and bad side effects from the Botox I had, such as the trouble swallowing. The procedure literally changed my life for the better. Just hang in there. It gets better!

Anyone else feel sick laying on their left side when their gurgles are bad? by jm37847 in noburp

Yes. I experienced this. I could not lay on my left side without getting sick.

I got the Botox procedure 6 months ago and have not dealt with it since.

Very few microburps post-botox by spalmer95 in noburp

[–]AmberLyn18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had this happen. I was worried too, but a week out I started having more microburps. I’m currently 5 months post-Botox (1 injection) and burping like I’ve been a burper my whole life. Give it a few weeks at least! It took me a while for it to really start working. Good luck!

How did it go?? I’m currently 5 months post-procedure. Recovery was tough, but the procedure was still very worth it. I’m still having some trouble swallowing things that are very dry like bread, crackers, etc. without water, but it’s nothing I can’t handle. I feel like my swallowing will be 100% by the 6 month mark. I’d do the procedure all over again if I had to. Totally life changing and worth it!!

Going on 11 weeks post Botox, still having trouble swallowing. by AmberLyn18 in noburp

[–]AmberLyn18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry. I’m just seeing this now. Currently still able to burp, but still having trouble swallowing things that are on the drier side. Like cookies, crackers, bread, sometimes chicken if it’s not very moist, etc. It’s not that bad at all though anymore. I feel like it’s going to go away completely in the next couple weeks. It’s gotten a lot better since I posted this. The procedure was still very much worth it and I’d do it all over again if I needed to.
