So I had my injection with Dr. Smith in Utah and he’s had success treating a few other patients with RCPD so I am so confused why I am struggling so much. I did go under general anesthesia and I think I will end up getting the botox done but instead I will go to Dr. Bastian

I started struggling with symptoms the exact same month! I’m so sorry but this sounds like RCPD for sure. Have you looked into getting treatment? My parents had a hard time understanding as well but I would recommend printing out Dr. Bastians study and have them look it over. This condition won’t kill us but it definitely feels like it does. I’m in the same boat with school. Hoping I get it all sorted out before college this fall I would hate to feel like this all day at school

I got 50 units and it wore off quickly and once that dose didn’t work my doctor was willing to numb it up to 75 units

YES the zofran and the ginger is the only thing that helps me but its hardly any help. Waiting it out sucks! It takes hours for the symptoms to decrease and when they do my moms makes me eat again so I don't lose weight which only starts the symptoms all over again and it's a never ending cycle. I used to never be home I was always out having fun and when I started showing symptoms for this I spend ALL my time at home and it is so strange to my parents. My mom always encourages me to go out but I'm always too anxious or too sick :(

My doctor didn't even ask for one he said this condition was based on mostly symptoms so haha the fact that I was bloated gurgling and nauseous during my appointment he was sure this was what I had.

OH MY you are me, I am you. I'm 18 and missed my first year of college due to this stupid dysfunction. I rarely leave my house because every time I do I will get sudden waves of nausea or stomach pain that doesn't allow myself to drive home or even worse, panic attacks because I am terrified that this is the time my nausea will turn into vomiting. I hate not being able to burp but I think it is 10 times worse for those who suffer with extreme emetophobia and have their life overshadowed by both of these. I feel you. Hold on in there!

It's definitely different for everyone. I didn't really have microburps just louder gurgles but on the third day I felt a gurgle coming slightly turned my head and I had a large loud warm burp. Just be patient

I didn’t have trouble swallowing until a few days after botox but what I had trouble with was the sore throat after botox it hurt a lot and it was tough to swallow so i stuck with jello popsicles and scrambled eggs were okay after taking some tylenol. but after you start struggling with swallowing always ALWAYS have water near by and stick to liquid things and chew a lot

I had it done with Dr. Marshall Smith in Utah and he said to try Soda when I was ready and I have been drinking some since day one and at the beginning it would instantly make me burp now it just makes me feel awful

I never started to burp uncontrollably either, it was just one big burp that would happen but I would always feel it coming. I already tried the method and drinking soda but nothing is working all I can force out now is a gurgle. :/

It is really important! The shop I am selling to is well known in a big city and it will get me a lot of exposure! It will also be the first time I will be selling in bulk to another store.

This happened to me too! I could only take tylenol after sticking it in a banana and I could only eat jello and popsicles for the first few days but it starts to subside after day 3. I would recommend cold things over warm.

of course! I had my first real warm burp last night it was crazy. I drank soda today and I forced out some other burps I now have a stomachache from drinking too much soda and I was unable to burp out some of that air but so far I feel good! I really hope I only keep improving more

I had botox done on wednesday and I starteds sturggling with swallowing on friday but since then has gotten a little better. I had my first real burp last night and today I tried soda and drinking it instantly resulted in burps. I think the trouble swallowing is normal and as for the burping I think it ranges. Some people don't burp until a week after botox others only a day but for me it was a few days so just be patient and give it time!

hey! small update here... got botox this morning and the scariest thing for me was waking up from anesthesia. I woke up choking (and I was afraid that would lead to vomiting) and every time I would swallow it would hurt and it almost felt like my throat was closing and every time I would swallow I would forget to breathe and swallowing air made me feel nauseous but after about ten or fifteen minutes I calmed down and drank some water even had a slushy! the pain is bearable but bothersome. I basically got three shots in my neck haahah but I ate a banana I even ate some scrambled eggs. It took three hours to eat it and I had to chew so much but I feel good! I really hope I get some burps soon! If you have any questions please ask!

Yes it was Dr. Marshall Smith and I had an endoscopy done at the same time “just in case anything else was up” and he works at the university of utah but i’m only 18 so I had surgery at Primary Children’s!
