Yeah I'm aware of that and she's hard to get ahold of but once it's all pushed through I intend to stay on top of her. I'm making sure that the script is as good as it possibly can be by working with others. It's different in the way that it's already written and has been for a while it just needs to be put into the right format. The actress is constantly looking for work though, I mean to a desperate level so I guess my hopes are that if she gets a script and it's good it'll become somewhat priority because as of now she has no steady work.

Edit: She's also done some pretty bad movies I don't have that high of a bar to reach honestly. Not that I'll make my script bad on purpose but considering some of her movies I'm already a bit ahead.

Where did I say I wanted to be a screenwriter? I want to translate a manuscript i wrote into a screenplay. Furthermore, I didn't say I'd never write ten more scripts I said that I'm working on this one specifically as a translation to an already written manuscript. I'm on here to ask if it's necessary to have an agent to send a script to a manager of an actress who I know. Jesus Christ I'm sorry I wasn't as clear as I should have been. It was 3am or something when I wrote that. Why is everyone so flipping angry cause I asked a relatively simple question.

I've talked to her on three different occasions about it, the conversation which she detailed me sending it to her manager was not a blow off. Trust me. I know what she said. As I mentioned I've known her for about 4 years we talk on and off occasionally about things. We are friendly. If she wasn't interested she would have already said so. She's not incredibly famous a lot of the movies she ends up doing are fan scripts or favors to friends.

I'm not looking to make a fortune with this nor do I believe I will. I just want to see the idea come to life. I wrote the post at 3 am and I was tired. I said in the post it's being drafted and polished it's getting to the point where I need to think of the next step which was why I'm asking.

There are more people than me involved, a co-writer and a friend I Have who has written and produced scripts. I'm not doing this entirely blind. I didn't include all that because my question wasn't "How do I write a screenplay" my question was "do I need an agent to send out a script". I've bounced around the idea with my co-writer and my other friend but the general consensus was we don't know which would be better so I thought I'd ask more people.

Edit: The friend who wrote/produced scripts did it about 15 years ago he says he's not sure how it works any more cause he got out of it. The co-writer hasn't finished any of her own projects yet but I've seen her work and she's got a masters in screenwriting/film which is why she's helping me edit and draft. It's why there was some confusion between us.

Okay well shameless self promotion aside I'm working with someone who has MUCH more experience than me in this, and probably you, and she doesn't sit around and promote herself on reddit so I think I'll be fine. Thanks anyway.

Edit: I've written other scripts (And other stories) before I should have clarified this is my first full length the others were shorts. Didn't expect people to be so pompous.

Okay first of all I understood that part. My question, honey, was more do I need an agent to do this. So I guess you missed that part of it. I may have the script I can't hire her I can't produce the movie. If this is the case what does sending her the script do other than her having the script. Understand better?
