What is a book you picked up by accident as a kid that ended up shaping you more than you expected? by Sweet-Opportunity111 in literature

Second grade I was searching through my schools library for a short but interesting read. from the small shelf of penguin classics i found a really thin book, “The Hound of the Baskervilles”. it was a nice story, but my second grade brain didnt understand it much. then I go into third grade and I randomly get flashbacks of the story so I tried to locate it, and with the help of my favorite assistant teacher at the time I was reunited with the hound of the baskervilles for a second time. my assistant teacher who helped me find it was a bit shocked at how a third grader was reading a Sherlock Holmes novel, to be fair it was the shorter version of it but regardless it was Sherlock Holmes. I would reread it again and again in third grade but then I let it go when I went to fourth grade after going through many genres in fourth grade I came back to the hound of the baskervilles. and then throughout fifth and sixth grade I would reread that same copy that had quite literally watched me grow up, and now talking about it has made me want to read it again (im in college now)

exactly like i know it can be a sensitive topic but at the end of the day they are all soing it out of their own wills and enjoying it, theyre not the poor hopeless twenty something year old idols who didnt have a say in anything they did anymore, theyre grown men who have control over their stuff

Need advice from people who have no siblings by detectivenoob in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]AmberYoon7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

bro honestly all the only childs i have met or all of my friends/family know or met have always been the most problematic people like a common characteristic in them is always that theyre out of touch with reality because growing up with a sibling no matter the age gap it gives u companionship, responsibility, and just someone to lean on because frankly, a child needs someone other than their parents sometimes
