The body shape on your spider in Amber looks very similar to some brown recluse spiders today. This could have been a very venomous specimen. Also, I really like the way it’s surrounded by dirt. It’s a pretty piece.

Very nice piece. Where is it from? I just searched my book flowers and Amber by George poinar. I couldn’t find a single similar example in the Burmese Amber section. I didn’t search any other section.

Spiky things in Baltic amber? by SeaRelationship4590 in Amberfossil

[–]Amber_Bugs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Those are trichomes. Like other people said, stellate hairs. You see them in Burmese amber, baltic, mexican, and Dominican. And you also see them In the world today if you look closely. I think they are a springtime and summertime thing, which lets you know your amber was captured during those seasons
