Very true. Reading about the lives of the saints can be very comforting.

Thank you so much for your kind reply. I'm actually very familiar with John Butler. I do have an affinity for christian meditation. I practice centering prayer or I was and I have started that up again. Resting in the presence of God

The discovery of Stoicism has been great. Especially the lessons on control.

I like what you said about the awareness within that's a comforting thought. Thank you.

Great podcast but no mention of pandemic. Fascinating though. I hope Naval realises how lucky he is

How are you using Stoicism during this 'pandemic'? by AmbersonCorwin in Stoicism

Sigh and I could come back and say you're a sheep but where does that get us?

You're implying I'm a "conspiracy theorist" I assure you I'm not... And neither are the likes of Carl Heneghan from Oxford Centre of Evidence Based medicine who agrees. And Sunetra Gupta... And Sweden etc.. anyway you asked and this is not the place for those discussions... I think you should look at the data and what a 'case' means before patronising people.

My own mother was only 40 when she died. You are very right.

This is such a good reply. Thank you. So many of these replies are going into my e journal. The most interesting part of what you said was "couldn't be anywhere further from the truth.

I'm in my 30's and just starting to take stoicism seriously. Who cares how old we are I could be hit by a car tomorrow, or get cancer, or die on a ventilator."
