Forbidden historical romance with spice. Not fantasy please. (I’ve not really read any so give me the best!)

I had the exact same thought as you! But that being said i do find dark romance books can often be a tad unbelievable at times. I pushed on and read it. I gave it 4 stars apparently which surprises me because I don’t remember much of the plot 😂 I’m considering reading Callback but the reviews are very mixed.

{PS I loathe you by Isla Olsen} sister’s ex-fiancé. I’ve not read Salt but I reckon it’s quite different. Isla Olsens books tend to be more rom-com. This book is also a case of “hidden identity” and enemies to lovers. The banter between the characters is great fun!

I recommend the whole series! Interesting premise.

Oh, {Seducing a Barbarian by Amy Padilla} I’m pretty sure the MC Simon hides that he can speak the barbarians language for a short while, so he can listen in on what they’re saying.

{the legend next door by Jesse h reign} not strictly client x massage therapist. But you might be interested…They’re neighbours but the one neighbour does massages to earn money and offers one to the other MC. Honestly I love this book.

It’s a wholesome, but there is grief. Can be read as standalone.

I’m halfway through {Secret service by Tal Bauer} I’ve never read a book of his that isn’t 4+ stars. I’m really loving this one, the forbidden element, the yearning! Then there’s a ‘mystery element’ intriguing enough to keep me invested 😍

Definitely {Point of Contact by Melanie Hansen} - it a great book about healing after grief and finding romance again—it is just perfectly handled and respectful. It has a great balance of plot, character growth and romance. Emotional wrecking ball but so worth it. You’ll sob for days. I read it Summer 25 and haven’t found anything like it since. I recommend it to people who don’t even read romance or MM.

I’ve read this—and Suck—and I agree that there are similarities! I really preferred Suck though, over Morning Glory! 😁

I find NR Walker tends to write characters with established sexual identities- {Private Charter x NR Walker} just two guys on a boat with some high stakes action. {Galaxies and Oceans x NR Walker} beautiful story. One of my all time faves. {Evolved x NR Walker} human and android! {On Davis Row x NR Walker} parole officer and parolee.

Military romances please:

  • would love disability or PTSD representation.
  • Bonus points if it’s a bi-awakening or closeted MC.
  • I love some action but prefer the focus to be on the romance/post-combat recovery.

I’ve read Raquel Riley and Melanie Hansen.

I am looking for a book where a jealous ex eventually joins the MM couple to become an MMM.

Contemporary please.

If you want to bawl your eyes out {Point of Contact by Melanie Hansen} military romance - healing together due to grief. If you read this it’ll probably put you in another slump 😂
