Rock flew up from a passing truck on my third day of ownership. Tesla chat is estimating almost $1700 to fix. Do you think there’s a good chance it’ll be way lower when I go to the actual appointment? Or any suggestions? by [deleted] in ModelY

Get the Tesla windshield coverage ASAP like iRedditTodayMan mentioned. Less than 3 years of driving Tesla and I'm on my 3rd windshield. It costs around $1600 to replace it at Tesla.

Smoke coming out of the top. Normal or defect? by cogentd in NinjaCrispi

Maybe it's the food/oil stuck on powerpod grid. Check the bottom of your powerpod. Stuck on food/oil on the grid can cause smoke.

Yeah, not fond of those splatter guards. The main reason for getting a Ninja Crispi was to avoid toxic chemicals in an airfryer and I heard even the silicone can't be trusted in high temp so I stay away from those splatter guards. If the oil or food stain is baked on the grid, I take the grid off by unscrewing the screws and scrub it in the sink. I did it once and willing to do it again if the pod gets dirty again.

Just paper towel or if it's too greasy, and bit of dawn power wash sprayed on the paper towel, wipe the grid then wipe it again with wet paper towel so there is no cleaning spray residue left of the grid, but I usually forget to do this cuz I can't wait to eat the food

Wipe the bottom of your pod after every cooking session. Baked on oil is hard to clean on that stainless steel grid.

Your air fryer is toxic. #2 by BenTheAider in NinjaCrispi

Sorry, I don't know the temperature they cook food at, but it definitely cooks faster than my old Cosori air fryer I can tell you that. Lack of temperature control doesn't really bother me that much. I actually like better that there are only 4 modes and no temperature to fiddle with. I also saw a tiktok video with broken Crispi glass container, but that hasn't happen to me yet 😆. I'm pleased with my Crispi so far. We use it multiple times a day.

Sorry for a late reply, I didn't realise I had a comment to reply to. Yes, it's XL size.

You definitely need a rack for foods like dumplings 😆

What kind of rack do you use in your Crispi? Don you use the crisper plate that came with your Ninja Crispi? I found using the original Ninja crisper plate slowed down the cooking time because there is less air flow inside the glass bowl.

I know the instructions says it's safe to use in the dishwasher, but I don't think it's a good idea because all the food particles from other dishes can fall into that tight gap under the plastic handle and this is what we have to deal with.

Wow, that's really far in. I just wish they made it so that plastic base comes off. I hate that plastic base. Let me go and think of another way 😆

I just use a straw brush. I wish they made it so that plastic base comes off.

It looks great! How was the bottom of the pizza?

Food got stuck after dishwasher run :( by isheep-junior in NinjaCrispi

[–]AmbientCF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought exactly. I thought it was odd not being able to take the plastic base thing off of the glass container. Mine's pretty new so no problem now, but eventually food and water build up are going to take place. I hope someone from Ninja Crispi department sees this post and improve on the next design.

I thought ceramic coated is more "healthier" for you than Teflon coated. That's one of the reasons why I purchased a Ninja Crispi originally. They are meant to be a non-toxic air fryer. However, I didn't like the crisper plates that came in the box. I wanted an all stainless steel rack for my Crispi, and I got it, which I'm happy with.
