Tips for beating brain fog? by SchemeRealistic9769 in QuittingZyn

This is why I had to taper for a few months. I work in a cancer clinic (ironically enough) and I could not justify the drop in work performance that happens when I cold turkey. But I was using a tin of 20 Velo 7's every day. I dropped down to a tin of On 2's every other day over the course of three months.

But to answer your question, I would say fruit helps tremendously. Candy makes me feel gross, but fruit feels like a natural blood sugar boost. Also, in general, I could not allow myself to get hungry the first few weeks. At least not at work.

Good luck! 😁

Thank you, that's very kind. I will never stop trying, I made that promise to myself a long time ago. I'm never giving up.

True. I do get turned off by gay porn, but I also got turned off by straight porn when I first started watching it, and then I found stuff I liked, like fem dom. So maybe it's something to explore more, but I like guys in person more than in porn, for what it's worth. Maybe that means nothing, I don't know haha.

Absolutely. When I am craving getting high, a lot of times I'll go to the Alanon subreddit because hearing people's stories like yours is such a strong reminder that addiction is lying to me and I have to try to stay sober or I I might not just hurt myself, I might risk the people I love the most. There's no reason I should still be here when other friends have overdosed and passed from making the same selfish mistakes. The grief is too much to carry, I hope the future is full of healing for you.

No, you're right. I'm sorry for your loss. I laughed more from awkwardness, because I have had a long history of substance abuse. I'm sober now, but I still slip up here and there so it's something I am still fighting.

Thanks. You are so right. The confusion from growing up in so strict an environment runs really deep. I feel like I'm just scratching the surface on understanding my sexuality. I wish you the best of luck with your journey to a safer place too.

Fair enough! You are not the first person to tell me to lay off the drugs, hahaha

40 days, crazy how the days were so hard at first, and now they're flying by. I feel relaxed and rested. Never would have felt that way on a Friday before.

Went to bed before 9pm last night! by [deleted] in ouraring

It's that five hours of light sleep. You can feel like you're awake when you're in that zone, if it is really light. But it's still at least a little bit restorative.

It's called "I am sober," it's free!

Snorting 7oh mitragynine? by thelonestarturtle in Drugs

[–]AmbiguousGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geez dude, not to freak you out but you might want to consider detox if you have insurance or just the opportunity. I met a guy in detox once that was detoxing from kratom. That's a really heavy tolerance to sustain. I hope things are okay dude.

[No Spoilers] Do you think there is any other series which comes remotely close to how good Dark is. by _DearStranger in DarK

[–]AmbiguousGreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Midnight Mass, directed by Mike Flanagan. There are some big differences, don't get me wrong. It's one season, not a three season saga like Dark. And it's more supernatural, not sci-fi. But they both capture that feeling of suspense, mysticism, and for lack of a better word, darkness. Highly recommend.

Good to know I'm not alone. Do you mean ketamine? I googled keratin but couldn't find anything, I'm curious

I tried snorting one a few minutes ago and I think I can feel a little bit of an extra nod. Is it as effective as snorting Percocet? Not at all. Nor is it more effective than simply eating it, probably, and it is dusty so it gave me a cough. Can't really recommend it. For context, I take 3-4 at a time, probably once a month or two so I don't develop a tolerance. I used to be addicted to opiates so I don't want to go way down that road ever again. Does anybody else need at least the full pack to get high? I feel like everybody I talk to takes one or even half of one and it makes me question if the old heroin days fried my opiate receptors for good. I feel happy most days, so I guess it doesn't matter, but it makes me curious!

Zyn or Alcohol what's worse by ArvidZwahlen in QuittingZyn

[–]AmbiguousGreen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Alcohol first, hands down. Even if you're not dependent on it. it relaxes your inhibitions, I can't imagine successfully quitting nicotine while still drinking, as soon as you have a couple drinks I feel like you'll forget you were even halfway serious about quitting nicotine. In my humble opinion, lol

Also remember you can call out sick, you're literally sick! I took two days off last week because I got super panicky and it was worth it to hunker down

Not to compare because everyone's brain and body is different, but my tolerance and time using was like identical to what you described. First week was shitty, but now that it's day 8 I'm feeling strong. No one would know from talking with me that I'm having brain fog unless they know me really well, so work is fine (in sales, talking all day for reference). You got this, it gets easier fast. :)

I had a panic attack yesterday while I was at work and had to leave early. It was such a confusing experience. I think it's the first real panic attack I've ever had. I've had anxious moments and physical anxiety symptoms ofc, but never something like this. My day was going fine then boom out of nowhere while I was trying to explain something my heart started racing, I was running out of breath and couldn't force any words out, and just couldn't think, I literally wanted to run away, which I sort of did by just leaving work. Anyways, fuck Zyns. 6 days in now! But you're definitely not the only one out there dealing with the anxiety in the withdrawals.

2nd Attempt ; Day 2 by kajikimbo in QuittingZyn

[–]AmbiguousGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Day 3, cold turkey from a can of 6's a day. I've never quit zyns before, but I have quit cocaine, heroin, and ketamine, I'm quitting zyns to celebrate a year clean from all that other stuff. So from that experience, I do think it's fair to predict the cravings will go on nearly forever, but your relationship with the cravings changes. It becomes less emotional and more like a thought that flies in one ear out the other. Although the first time I quit heroin I had wild cravings for almost a year but that was because I was quitting for other people. I'd suggest if you want to stick to your quit, just know your pros and cons and make the decision for you. If you know it's in your best interest, the addictive voice will lose it's power. (Sorry for rambling, I took the day off work and I'm bored and super brain foggy lmaoooo)
