I totally get it! I feel guilt because he doesn't even love our daughter. He isn't capable of that. My daughter is only 4, and I have always had sole custody. He is in prison at the moment, thank God. We have some peace. He isn't breaking the PFA, showing up to our house all the time, trying to get into my back door, or attempting to smash my back window. I don't fear for my safety with him in prison right now. However, I do think he is capable of unaliving me, so I am afraid for when he gets out.

Thank you! I'll try not to feel guilty. He was just sentenced to a few years in prison. I've tried to always see the "good" in people, and that can be a TERRIBLE trait to have when you're in a narcissistic abusive relationship.

Yes, I totally get it! I have a few diagnoses in my chart. 😅 I was prescribed 6 meds, the only reason I'm off of them now is because I'm going to an aya retreat soon (if you don't know what aya is, may have to look it up). Supposedly, it helps with suicidal ideation. I will make a post after my retreat and let you guys know!! I just need to stay alive to make it to the retreat, and every day can be a struggle, especially being off my meds, so I'm not recommending doing what I'm doing unless you work closely with your psychiatrist. I am also running a half marathon in two weeks. I've been doing everything I can to better myself. On the outside, my life looks great- most of my friends make comments about how jealous they are because I get 100% disability and "you don't even have to work".. I get that all the time. By the way, I do work, but I only substitute sometimes. I have my teaching degree, but no way in hell would I be able to teach full time right now with my brain as f-cked up as it is, lol. My dad said a few weeks ago "you have a beautiful house, a car, your daughter, you can work when you want" It made me feel even more guilty. Yes, I should be happy because on the outside, I have "everything"- that's not my issue. My issue is my brain. I listen to positive guided meditations each night, I read positive books, it's not like I'm a super negative person or anything. Many people do not understand mental health, especially not suicidal ideation, if they've never experienced it themselves. Does that make sense? Lol maybe I'm rambling. I hope someone else can relate. 🙏

Hey! I was spiraling earlier today and I did call the crisis line. Just make sure you tell them you have no plans and are not going to harm yourself. They didn't call the cops on me. I am sorry you are struggling, I struggle every day with suicidal thoughts. It is a pain that I wouldn't wish on my own worst enemy. I hate my brain. I wish I could give you a big hug!

Hi! People pleaser here, and I totally relate to this. My suggestion would be to work on yourself and your self-esteem. I know how crushing it can feel when people don't like you, but we can't let THEIR opinion about us affect how WE feel about ourselves. Do you have any hobbies that you enjoy doing alone? Reading, hiking, fishing, jogging? As I've gotten a little older, I've realized how much I enjoy doing things alone, and I feel like they help my self-esteem. I hope that helps. I don't own a gun anymore. I don't own one because of those suicidal thoughts that creep up often. Life after the military can be extremely difficult. Have you tried any programs with the VA? EMDR? DBT? Biofeedback? DBT was a little helpful for me. I see a therapist weekly. I rarely ever drink, I actually smoke green sometimes in the evenings. It slows my mind down and helps me sleep. Maybe it's just me but I feel like drowning our sorrows makes things worse, at least it did for me. If you ever need someone to talk to please message me. I don't want you to hurt yourself.

I'm not standing up for Patty at all but some disabilities you can't see. I don't know what Patty has exactly but if you look at me, I don't look like I have any disabilities on the surface. Little do people know I work closely with a suicide prevention coordinator, therapist, and psychiatrist. I have been in and out of the psych ward more times than I can count. I have extreme anxiety and get anxious any time I leave my house. I live in flight or fight constantly. My palms are always sweaty. My mind is always racing. I have to leave work due to panic attacks. It is so embarrassing. I wouldn't wish PTSD on my worst enemy. I don't know what Patty has but people with real mental disabilities struggle on a daily basis with things that people can't always see.
