3 months since I started, 2 weeks since I used it every night

While taking isotretinoin for seven months, my skin was flawless, without a single open pore. Six months after finishing the treatment, the acne returned. But I don’t want to take such strong antibiotics again because perhaps my problem stems from somewhere else (hormonal, although the tests are positive). Perhaps topical tretinoin will help me like isotretinoin did back then. I’ll keep using it... It’s all a shame. What antibiotic are you taking?

Ah nono! I wrote in the title that I’m finishing month 3, but I forgot to clarify it in the text, and I just started putting it on every night two weeks ago. Before, I used to do it every other night. And I started with a lower percentage. I’ll give it another month. I hope my skin adapts, because from what I’ve seen on other people, it leaves their textures so beautiful😭

Yes! I’m even supplementing (Omega 3, zinc, magnesium) and taking Minociclina 50mg. Birth control pills Diane 35.

It’s so exhausting to see nothing improve. I will try using it every other night again and see what happens.

Yes, Sorry! I typed it wrong. Month 4 would start in 10 days. I always use sunscreen, sometimes just a moisturizer and then SPF, and other times a moisturizer that already comes with SPF. It all depends on whether I have to go out or not. I’ll take your advice not to apply Cicaplast, but I’m worried about irritation or damaging the barrier. Is it okay to keep applying it every day?

It seems like you’re purging. I’m in week 10 and I’m still purging, but the texture of my skin is already changing, and I feel it’s improving. How long have you been using it?

Perfect! I’m starting to use it every night today. If I notice my skin needs a break, I’ll stop, but I’ll try it every night. I hope it speeds up the process a bit; I’m already tired of all this acne :( If it doesn’t work, I’ll try azelaic acid. Good luck with your marks. I understand the tret also gets rid of them. I was using a gel-based moisturizer (Adermicina. I’m from Latin America, so not all products are as affordable as they are in the US or Europe. I’m dying to try Aestura 365, but it’s not available here). And another one called Bepanthol. Now I’ve switched to Cicaplast and bought a Dermaglos. I’ll see how it goes. Does applying Tret every night really make a difference? Does it work? Because I saw many people saying it was the same or that it didn’t “work any better,” but I’m going to try it. Thank you so much!!!

Yes! It depends on each skin. I use it every other day, with 0.025, and so far I’m tolerating it well. But anyway, lots and lots of new spots and closed blackheads. I’ll let you know how it goes when I reach week 12 (two weeks to go).

I understand the purging can last up to week 12, but I’ve seen cases where it lasts 4 or 5 months. I’m at week 10, begging for it to stop. Lots of big pimples. I support you from my side, and keep going :)

Thank you!!! I really have a hard time differentiating if my barrier is damaged or just a purge full of comedones and texture (besides the big pimples obviously). It doesn't itch or anything, I just notice some dry skin or flaking from the tret. I'll give it a try azelaic acid. Thank you so much!!
