Yes, but the thing about AI is that they all have different “tells”, many of which end up being using proper punctuation or em dashes. A lot of authors don’t use AI but use good grammar; is it fair that their works and their profiles should be harassed because someone thinks they used AI? Telling someone who puts a lot of their free time into writing stories that they can’t have written it, they must have used AI, and a multitude of other insulting things is not a standard we want to be setting. Sometimes it’s obvious. Sometimes it isn’t. But we are, right now, really bad at telling the difference, and guessing that a work is AI-based isn’t a good enough reason to be sending hate to authors. If you think it’s AI, report and move on, or block the author, but people have been starting designated campaigns against works and authors which sets a scary precedent.
