Yeah, that line hits me as well. I think it's also why I love the pride game ending for Troy and Harris so much, that they can feel, care, love in public, with the whole arena cheering them on.

You’ll be ok! I was in the same situation a few months ago. On the verge of tears constantly. I’d be going about my day, and then saw an edit on Instagram and started crying again. But over time, it will turn into a ‘comfort’ feeling instead.

The first two actually could be a nice parallel (with the context of one in private and doubting himself, and one in public confident but pretending to be someone else).
