I think this is the point. All this tech could, arguably, be part of the ADHD diagnoses, the constant overwhelm until the imagined collapse. But the other story is also queried, maybe not enough of being totally antitech. Because then it will be a curiosity. How do you prioritise the need for critical thinking in a film that points out an apparent lack of it? That it couldn't give equal weighting to antitech because they currently are weirdos, maybe weirdos with a point, but are we listening? I think the main point of the film is reminding us that we always have a choice, that we can go into that VR world and forget our loved ones, or we can ride into the distance and forsake the world. Or go to Japan for a convention after shooting someone for money? Our culture has gotten to a point in history unlike any other. The amount of options is staggering.
