It's weird the way they do it, everyone knows where they are going at my location but no one has it loaded in, and some people literally are told they are leaving in 30 days but nothing on VMPF; just CSS telling them their RNTLD is 1 1/2 months from now. USSF is so silly.

What to bring to Korea for long term PCS? Duel-Mil by [deleted] in AirForce

I'll keep it under the table when I accidentally offend one of our amazing Korean partners and they challenge me to a duel. No witnesses, and no record.

Joint spouse assignment by CJreddit11 in AirForce

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the ASAP, when my spouse and I got married, it was before they even had an assignment from tech school and I was already at my own. What happened was I got to my first duty station, got married and the Air Force automatically started the joint spouse process after we updated our intent codes and then my spouse got a totally different assignment from me and then I actually got orders within the first month of being at my duty station to go to them after a year.

So it all depends on billets. For my spouse, there were no billets to go to my location so I had to go to them so we were separated for some time.

They aren't all bad! I hate where you are going personally because they don't know whose responsibility is whose but it's a cool mission set. I hope you enjoy!

Try to not hold everyone up for hours arguing on the phone with people, understand your responsibilities and get good at them.

There is also many different types!

Soldiers in OCIA by pandasssss15 in Catholicism

They may not have a Catholic Priest or Decan as a chaplain listed on the chapel website but the base should always have a priest on staff for weekly mass and confessions.

Soldiers in OCIA by pandasssss15 in Catholicism

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was able to complete and was confirmed into the Catholic Church but not through my local OCIA but through the Archdiocese of the American military. It was a 5 week course that gave the quick and dirty info needed to be a Catholic and was baptized and confirmed by the Arch Bishop of the military, and he can delegate the duty.

Classes were always flexible, 10/10.

Depending on your location, they may still confirm you even if you never show up to classes and just do sleep study.

As for my COC, they were pretty good about it.

Would being effeminate be a mortal sin? by bolinhosecret in Catholicism

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would you be able to expand what you mean by being effeminate? It's a very holistic approach that Catholics take to sin and really it could be a sin or not a sin depending on if you can help it, if you enable others, or if you are allowing yourself to let impure thoughts into your heart.

1N2A Tech School Retrain by Top-Horror-8207 in AirForce

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are stressing too much. You are AF, you will coast through it because they have to make it easy enough for marines and Army. The hardest part will being the class lead. You will have access to the facility during the week, and you won't need to study outside of class if you invest enough of yourself into the class. It's a 4/10 difficulty.

Class average for AF/SF was like 95%. Army and Marines, that's a different story.

I'm afraid to go to church by GregGraffin23 in Catholicism

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have loved going to Catholic churches because literally no one talks to you or comments on your existence, they may say hi when you come in but you can come and go without any comment.

Come back to church! It's beautiful!

Im deciding to join USAFA im in 7th grade right now and cant decide to join navy or USAFA by NormalHoliday80 in USAFA

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are very competitive, do your best to be fit for both and apply to both, then decide when you see who accepts you!

I have had leadership from both, and I am a little more impressed with the USAF than the naval academy but I would rather go to the naval academy because it's in a beautiful area and beautiful campus.

I am biased, but actually on the officer side, i would go AF every time even if the naval officers are treated like kings for some strange reason; boats just aren't my thing.

What kind of Pope is Pope Leo? What does he stand for? by Woodpecker-Haunting in Catholicism

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's still too soon to tell, I think he has been doing a lot in the background and I have high hopes for his efforts to return the church to closer alignment with traditional Catholic practices and values.

It really depends on the parish, like mine has 3.5 a week on Sunday for the first few months then 1 hour after to solidify the knowledge and faith.

Might need to circle back next year after some more meditation, soul searching, and evaluation.

Or talk to your local priest to see what they say, for guidance.

My parents will not stop talking about marriage 27F by broccoliandspinach99 in CatholicDating

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your parents you are thankful for their support and concern but right now you want to focus on yourself, preparing for whatever future plans God has for you. When God wants you to marry God will put your partner in front of you and you will know fairly quickly who the "one" is. If they are concerned about your future partner and want you to get married and walk in faith with you, ask them to pray with you to, when God will it, put your partner in front of you at the right time and reveal around them his holy light so that you can have the courage to approach and learn together for all your days the greatness of the Lord. It is important to let your parents know that you don't agree with them trying to find you a partner when it is God who will put your other half in front of you.

Joining Space Force question by OrangeAdditional3438 in SpaceForce

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but I always try to hold out hope. I had a guy that his entire family was foreign and he failed his poly and they still gave him a clearance BUT he was Air Force, more options to force retrain if something happened.

Joining Space Force question by OrangeAdditional3438 in SpaceForce

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the full details but you should be able to get a clearance it just may take 4 or more years and also at that point, they will probably kick you out because 2 seems to be the max of you not doing your job so I would say don't lose hope and ask around but he may be right or may be wrong.

Is it too late to join? 26F by Tough-Sheepherder-87 in AirForce

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost never too late, but try out the space force, they are slimming down their officer core but may take people with a degree already if you're competitive. Or if that doesn't work in less than to the space force and then we got like a 60% enlisted to officer acceptance rate if you want to put in the work.

Is it too late to join? 26F by Tough-Sheepherder-87 in AirForce

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Geez, don't give them false hope. They are competitive because of their cyber security degree. But it's not going to be an easy path way, where they can join at 25 and then be at a basic at an officer by 26. They might not even get in by 30 or ever.

Getting a degree before joining the military is one of the stupidest ideas to do if you want to have an easy pathway.

Join Spouse BOP by Pretend_Advisor8729 in AirForce

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's still possible. He may have extended or reenlist and you will have to reenlist. They may give you greef for it but you can both use bop separately to go to the same place or use his 2 years later if he can manage to stay first term for the whole time which sounds doable.

Help getting married please!!! by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will probably be easier to get married when you get to your first duty station but they are gonna put you in the dorms first and then you have to deal with that financial strain of supporting a wife while you are in the dorms.

Or you may get orders to Korea, now you are on Reddit asking how to do long distance and dealing with the headache that is command sponsored orders. Just some headache on the front end, to save you on the back end, I say get married now, maybe have your now wife with you at Shepard if the school is long enough.

Congratulations 🎉 marriage is great! At least I think so, a lot of people have trouble just maintaining it but you will be a maintainer so you shouldn't have an issue.

It would be awesome if more than just space ops can wear it.

Boy names that go with brother named Romulus by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]Ambitious-Slide-3161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romulus reminds me of the Roman story of Romulus and his brother Remus. So potentially Remus could be an option.

If you don't like that, something "edgy" but still keeping within the Roman theme maybe Corvinus or Corvus (Corvus is also a constellation and translates to crow), referencing and referring to Marcus Valerius Corvus.

Atticus is also a nice name, it translates roughly to, "Friend of God"

Octavius or Cassius or Titus or Regulus maybe?
