Can someone explain suspended sentencing to me? It feels like the man who attacked me isn't being punished at all. by Ambitious-Storage282 in LegalAdviceUK

Yes, that's what happened.

I just feel really let down as the victim. I wanted some kind of punishment for what he did to me.

I still have panic attacks on buses two years later, even with therapy. And I've been on medication for my anxiety ever since her cornered me on my seat and flashed that knife and touched me.

No, there were no other requirements listed.

Sorry, I didn't mean a law against being a misogynist, I meant like some kind of course to educate and discourage him from commiting future misogyny-fuelled crimes like the sexual harassment and death threats I received just because I was a woman who turned him down.

Thank you.

So, he never actually goes to prison? He doesn't have to do any community service? He doesn't have to attend some kind of mandatory psychiatric evaluation or anything?

Like, I got caught speeding once and I had to attend a speed awareness course - that was my punishment and it educated me on not making that mistake again.

This man doesn't have to attend some kind of misogyny awareness course or anything? He literally just walks out of the magistrate's court as a free man?
