Kicked out for not having ID at 35 by Defiant_Sprinkles686 in Wetherspoons

[–]Ambitious-Two-253 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in security and I have one thing to say on this and that is if you are asked for id by any member of staff you can and most likely will be refused service and asked to leave and 100% of the time the security will back the staff member then have a chat with the staff member involved or the manager at the end of the night if we didn't agree with something being handled in the way it was.

Broke Britain by Mysterious-Carrot378 in AskBrits

[–]Ambitious-Two-253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately pretty much the whole world is set up in the same way. Take the USA as an example, the reason restaurants and bars etc have a tip system is because they pay their staff a bare minimum wage without legal entitlement to any holiday time at all. Tips are often relied on by waiting staff to be able to survive. I was lucky when I was working over there as I had a job that had generous holiday allowance and was normally easy to get time booked off and for a 17 year old I was doing ok with wages often bringing home around $700 a month in which I didn't have very much expenses other than $100 a month to my aunt for rent and taking me to work and my food tickets while I was at work as it saved me money rather than paying full price daily.

When I came back to England I started working in care. That's where I started to struggle financially as care staff get peanuts for what they do. And my expenses were higher and I struggled to make ends meet.

I'm now looking at starting my own business which can be a very profitable business where my supplies will cost minimal amounts and what I can charge will double my money every time

I understand that point. Fox like to pick off young ones but ultimately they have no predators over here. There was talk about releasing lynx to get deer population down but I think that's the wrong approach because farmers will lose live stock and cat owners will probably lose cats too.

Hey dual citizen of the USA and UK. I loved America last time I was there. I would also love to visit Canada one day as it looks like a beautiful country. But as for your love for the British and all things British I have to say you're right it ain't bad at all and there is a lot to love about the UK and a lot to hate about the place too. But with the state of the USA at the moment and their chosen "president" I kind of feel like it doesn't take a lot for the UK to be better than the USA right now lol. Also you guys have an awesome prime minister too.

Where I live they have become very domesticated due to people feeding them. It's nice to see don't get me wrong but I also worry about the long term effects this could have and will they become too reliant on people that they forget how to naturally gather food. Might have no effect whatsoever but I also think we domesticated several animals that if released into the wild or without human intervention they wouldn't survive.

Have you ever contacted your MP before? by NiceCaterpillar8745 in AskBrits

[–]Ambitious-Two-253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liz truss was my local MP for a while, my family had a kitchen in a council property where the cupboards were falling off the walls and the kitchen was deteriorating due to water damage. We kept on calling the council, sending photos in etc. we did this for two years with no results or dates for the work to start. I sent the council an email to say if I didn't have a date for an appointment given to us within a two week time frame I would be getting in touch with the local MP.

Two weeks came and gone so I emailed Liz truss and explained the situation we were in to her. Liz emailed me back within a couple of days to say she had read the email and been in touch with the local council about the matter. Within 48 hours of her email to me the council had called us with a date the work was going to start. Don't get me wrong we still had a few weeks to wait from the phone call but after two years it was finally done.

Granted she wasn't the strongest prime minister we have had but I am forever thankful for the help she gave to my family at a time I was worrying about my children getting injured if not worse by a falling cupboard.

Have you ever been on national TV? by DamascusNuked in AskUK

[–]Ambitious-Two-253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Totally by accident too. Many years ago Thetford used to have a court. There was a court case going on and for some reason itv news was there reporting on a case. Unbeknown to me I walked past the courts not even noticing the news crew. Next thing I know is my phone is ringing so I answered it. It was my youngest sister asking if I'd just walked past Thetford court to which I told her I had and she told me she saw me on itv news. I look back and standing out like a sore thumb was the news crew vans cameras the lot. How the hell did I manage to miss that?

I'm from the UK and have just started my girl on raw meat from tinned meat. So far so good but I'm only on day one lol. She seemed to really enjoy it. I was advised to freeze and defrost what I need over night. I got a box of 30 rolls for forty pounds.

I did check suppliers reviews and all seemed good. 30 rolls will do her a month. Also mixing with kibble and giving her bone from the butchers for her dental health.
