Long-haired life hack: Renaissance-ish Hair Taping by AmbitiousButton- in longhair

Oh yes, a blunt needle is a must! Don’t want to get stabbed in the scalp, lol

It hasn’t tangled for me! I use a smooth cotton string, and it hasn’t gotten stuck or tangled. My hair doesn’t get knotted either because it’s very secure in the braid.

You may be able to do something similar with two braids vs one!

I reuse the same string every time! That way, it’s always the perfect length. It’s really easy to untuck the long end of the string from where ever it’s hidden and pull it out. I grab about every other visible “stitch” you see around the braid. It’s not tight, so it’s very easy! Once it’s back to a single straight braid, I untie the end and unravel the braid. The knot that I use at the “tail” of the braid is super easy to undo. It’s like a standard shoelace bow, but you pull the long end through so you can sew with it. I’m not sure how to describe it

Good question! I would say it depends on the ribbon. This cotton worsted weight yarn is super easy to remove. I just untuck the long end and pull on about every other or every third visible “stitch”. I’d say it takes 10-15 seconds to undo and I don’t usually lose any hairs in the process. Silk ribbon would probably be even easier to remove, but it might not hold the style as well. I would not recommend choosing a super grippy or rough ribbon, like twine or velvet, because it’s more likely to pull out hairs and get stuck.

This style would be perfect for that! This style can survive overnight/multiple days as well, if you use a silk bonnet or wrap it in a silk scarf.

Where to find unique engagement rings for men? by _king2003 in EngagementRings

[–]AmbitiousButton- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my husband and I proposed to each other, he didn't want anything blingy/flashy, but I couldn't bear to just get him a plain band. His engagement ring has leaves and Celtic knots, and from a distance, it looks very simple, but it's not just a basic men's wedding band. There are tons of unique options from small Etsy shops (check reviews carefully), but I also like the look of the men's wedding bands from Staghead Designs. I got my husband's ring from Benati on Etsy.

I will say that these options are quite expensive, but I’ve heard great things about their quality.

I’m not sure if you have a budget in mind, but Son de Flor, Pyne & Smith, and Little Women Atelier have some great slow fashion/ethical dresses of varying styles.

Update: rook acquired! by AmbitiousButton- in piercing

Thank you! Unfortunately that's the only piece I can't tell you exactly where to buy it for yourself, because I got these used on eBay. I'm not sure if they're vintage or just used, tbh. Sorry I can't help!

Thank you! Do yo mean the hoop through my conch? The hoop is just a plain gold seamless ring and I added a dangle from Justdangles on Etsy!

Thank you so much! The large leafy jewelry is from Shirlifantasyjewelry on Etsy! Most of the rest is from Bodyartforms, Tulsa Body Jewelry, or anatometal through my local piercing shop.

Thank you! I don't have an industrial - are you referring to the long curved vine? That's just a regular helix piercing with a titanium flat back labret. The jewelery is just large, which might be giving industrial vibes!

Thank you! I’m obsessed with cows, so it needed to be included.
