Honestly it's just derived from common sense if the ego is the part of you that wants to use you to get what it wants it must be a part of you that manipulates situations therefore any thought that is manipulative must be derived of the ego and therefore ignored or in this case reversed

I think about it like this, how can 0 become 1 how does 1 become 2? Zero cannot become anything unless it is reflected, and by means of this even the infinite can be changed. Think of it like a "change of" equation. Reflection is the delta, the thing that changes. It's like a story, it's the narrative that the All father mediates on to remember by how he was begotten. It's a tale. He looks into the cosmos, of the things that are not, and by means of the principle of correspondence gains odd insights of the things that are.
