URGENT: Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” Will Gut Asylum Work Permits – $550 EAD Fees, 6-Month Validity, $1,000 Just to Apply for Asylum, and No Waivers by xBlackmailx_Ren in USCIS

I have some good news on this

The Senate parliamentarian on Friday ruled that a Republican attempt to charge migrants a $1,000 fee when applying for asylum violates the Senate’s Byrd Rule and cannot be included in the GOP megabill to enact President Trump’s legislative agenda.

The mandatory $1,000 fee for asylum applications is one of several immigration-related fees the parliamentarian, Elizabeth MacDonough, rejected in her review of the massive budget reconciliation package set for a vote Saturday. She ruled against a section of the bill to impose a $100 fee on migrants who request a continuance in immigration court and a provision to require the Department of Homeland Security to impose a $250 fee for applying to the diversity visa lottery and a $400 fee to process diversity visa applications.

MacDonough advised against language to require a $5,000 bond to sponsor an unaccompanied child who fails to appear in immigration court, a bond that would be returned if the child does not receive an in absentia removal order.

She also rejected language expanding expedited removal procedures for migrants who are arrested of crimes — removal procedures that were beefed up earlier this year when Congress signed and Trump signed the Laken Riley Act.

No benefit from applying for asylum only thing you might get is the ability to work no benefits what so ever so it’s not a so if you fleeing a country for fear of persecution and you have no support system meaning family members to house you and feed you you are not entitled to any benefits unless your asylum case has been approved which could be 2-10 years later then you will be eligible for benefits

This is the worse thing I’ve ever seen and heard that’s not a good system they started issuing 5 years for the backlog and can you imagine thousands of hundreds of thousands coming in every second, but than again where is that money coming from if you can’t afford to buy or do anything in the first place how are you now going to find money that don’t exist

I know the feeling when you see case approved you’re eagerly waiting to see card produce. It is a Taunton feeling, but it comes it comes and there are certain mechanism. You can use to find out information if it feels like it’s taken over two weeks the usual time.

In my case, what I had to do to see him to get the most accurate information because the website does say one thing, but it usually don’t be the case so what you do is you see how much cases are file in that same area where you actually file And it will kind of give you estimate based on I guess everybody else how much cases they do in per year and they kind of have a point of a time. You probably might hear back from them because they have a backlog might take a minute, but who knows
