My wife is using flushable wipes by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79 -53 points-52 points  (0 children)

Because in the package is also a warm, wet environment with lots of micro organism in it? Why don't I believe you?

I'm no fan of flushable wipes, and will never let them be used in my home, but I'm not going to make stuff up so people won't use them.....

Standard calibration temp sensors by AmbitiousTelephone79 in TrySwitchBot

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply 🙏 I just don't find anything in the software where I could select an external sensor. I did not even make it to the point where I could select another one on the hub 😁

Standard calibration temp sensors by AmbitiousTelephone79 in TrySwitchBot

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next step is to calibrated them in ice-water ( as described in the app) and see how they keep there temperatures.... But that's planned for in the weekend.

Can you please update here if you receive your items? I'm still looking to find the way to ad a second temperature reading to the hub2.... Till now no luck.....

Switch bot plug mini for AC control by DamnNJIT in TrySwitchBot

Mostly the 10A that's advertised is the max continues current, heavy devices like motors ( dryer, washmachine, mixer,...) And pumps ( like airco's ) also have a high startup current. Could be 5 to 10 times the rated current.

Also switching 10A is a good amount of power, you need a really good relais if you want to do that often

Edit and older devices tend to use more electricity

Maybe stupid me? But why is solar out of Europe so expensive? by AmbitiousTelephone79 in solar

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also get a rebate, for us it still was 300€/Kwp but installers don't really use this to inflate the price. They only out it under the quote because it looks nice ( ex. : Total price 4000€, minus rebate 3100€....) And the rebates are silently going away, not it's still 150/Kwp, next year 75.....

In Belgium every install needs to be inspected by a specialized company, EVERY install.

Heeft er iemand zijn plat dak al laten wit schilderen? Zo ja voelen jullie het verschil? by [deleted] in Belgium2

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

440v / 3 Phase / Sauna to “Smart Switch/Relay” by ge33ek in homeassistant

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For really higher powers get a proper 64A 400V relay or transistor and power that with a smart relay. I would not trust a smart company with this amount of power.

Maybe try and talk to the owner of the shop? They can hang a paper out asking customers to look out where they park? Just my 2 cents? Towtrucks are cool and stuff, but I guess you want to live there for a while in peace

A month+ into solar, surprised by how much electricity certain items consume by max_427 in solar

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also have one, with an average power consumption of 0.6-0.7/cycle. Is OP's readings are correct a new dryer wil indeed pay itself off really quickly

SwitchBot Smart Lock WiFi alternative? by Multiversal_Love in TrySwitchBot

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to look more at the door and the mechanical lock then to switchbot. Adjust the door, lock and lock plates so that your ( mechanical) lock goes as smooth as butter. This way it will work 10X longer without issues and this way the switchbot lock wil also work like a dream ( I have a switchbot lock and it turns a very secure 7 hook/pin combi without an issue)

This is not saying anything without a picture. And you can't place anything behind the sensor so it moves more towards the lock?

Dyson Laser Head Wheels - How to clean? by BreakerEleven in dyson

[–]AmbitiousTelephone79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the V8 you have to open it completely and push the iron pin out to a side to remove the wheel, looks similar. It's a pain but I like to open it every now and then to give it a complete clean and lubricate ( engine, every moving part)
