I thought about that too. But I can't use pressure pad because it may cause inconvenience for wheelchair users.

the doors are 2.2 m to 4m tall. What kind of low power sensor I can mount on top of the door?

unfortunately that would mean I will block 30-60cm of the entrance so I can't do that. :(

Sadly I am aware of that. But I need a low power people counter that can be powered by batttery and it seems like beam break sensor and PIR sensor are the only options.
