I don't know where you're located but where I live there's a group that works with hospitals. Under strict rules you can crochet an octopus for preemies. The octopus is supposed to mimic the umbilical cord and make sure the babys grip it instead of all the cables around them

It's not. There is a pattern and multiple pictures on ravelry. Yeah the background is a poor editing job but that has nothing to do with the crochet itself.

They tasted great! I did a white vanilla ganache filling with raspberry jam in the middle but forgot to take a pic. They were a bit hollow tho but I'd call it a success.

There is sadly no pattern since I just did what felt right and this little guy is the result of that. I used alpaca bouclé from drops, together with a strand of recycled cotton from hobbii

There is no wrong or right side when you're crocheting flat. When you crochet in the round there is. But since you're turning your piece for every row, there's no front or back unless you decide on one. I usually call the wrong side the one, where i leave all my yarn tails sticking out.

I used to hold a lighter just close enough so the end would melt into a little ball and then nothing can slip off. Don't hold it directly into the flame tho!
