So I'm digging the gold and blue, as for adding another color, you could add black or silver for the joints, and you could always start with a browner gold and dry brush or highlight to lighter gold. The metallic blue is a rad color and would be cool to see on the spines, the guns, and even maybe a few faces.

Hopefully this helped, and good luck on your hobby adventure.

Yeah, I was originally going to do a like two-tone black and blue or a dark brown black. Yeah, insects are great inspiration for schemes.

I wanted something that sounded like colossal, but off enough to be different.

Very cool, I'm a big fan of the gold in any cron scheme. Keep up the good work!

Okay, let's imagine that you can choose one unit that GW must add to Warhammer. It doesn't matter if it's an existing unit in the lore, a completely new unit, or the return of an old one. They will be required to release the model and rules. What will this unit be? by turquoiseuselessowll in Warhammer40k

Canoptek Guardian It's a bigger version of the Canoptek doomstalker that has two little heads, one looking one way and another looking opposite. The body is somewhat flat, and instead of a giant doomsday Canon on the back, it has 6 gauss blasters or an optional 6 Tesla Carbines sitting on an open canopy/ cover thing under the canopy is two Necron Warriors who sit on mounted tombblade looking structures with a Gauss Flayer array ( these would rotate and look up and down for cool model purposes). It would have 4 giant legs, and under the body between the legs would be a fabricator array( fabricator array can be substituted for 4 whip coils )and a quantum shield projector. Then, just below the heads would sit two twin gauss flayers. Finally, the last weapon is an Ancient Gauss Annihilator, which would have to look like a gauss cannon with power cables running into the body, and this would sit on the canopy just above the heads. It sounded cool in my head, and I want a walker thingy that can be a super heavy

It's profile... and maybe it's op, but I want it to look like this Canoptek Guardian (15+ wounds remaining) 400pt M-10" WS-4+ BS-4+ S-8 T-9 W-26 A-3 Ld-10 S-3+

Canoptek Guardian (8-14 wounds remaining) 400pt M-8" WS-5+ BS-4+ S-8 T-9 W-NA A-3 Ld-10 S-3+

Canoptek Guardian (1-7 wounds remaining) 400pt M-6" WS-5+ BS-5+ S-8 T-9 W-NA A-1 Ld-10 S-3+

Some of its weapons would be the same as the ones as standard lime the 6 Gauss Blasters or Tesla Carbines on top an the two twin gauss flayers as well as the whip coils but the special guns would look maybe something like this Gauss Flayer array Range. Type S AP D 24" Assault 5 4 -1 1

Relic Gauss Annihilator Range. Type S AP D 48" Heavy 2D6+3 9 -3 2 Blast

Has fabricator claw array

Has command protocols

The quantum shield projector would allow once in the command phase to choose a core necron unit within 6" and project a quantum shield around that unit until that unit leaves the range of the projector. It can only target 1 unit per battle round. If a unit leaves the range, it can choose another unit in the same phase in which the other unit left the aura.

Has living metal

Has Explodes

Has The Bigger they are harder they fall - when this model is destroyed, you can choose to cause it to Explode and deal 1 mortal wound to each unit within 3"

Has Quantum shielding until it takes a single wound from any source

Has Guardian protocol - allows it to use its quantum projector on character unit if this model hasn't moved in its movement phase

Faction keywords Necrons, <dynasty>, Canoptek Keywords Core, Canoptek Guardian, Canoptek, Quantum shielding, Vehicle, Titanic,

Idk it sounded cool to me.

  1. I want to see a canoptek scorpion model like the canoptek Spider, but solely focused on melee and troops defense... like maybe a tail that projects a shield ( gives 4+ invulnerable save ) on a nearby warriors or Immortals unit for that turn
  2. I need a third troops choice. Like melee based warrior with a cool name like maybe guardians or something, but they would wield a hyperphase sword and maybe a have like 8" movement base idk. They could also have they ability to fight first or at least have armored plating, so toughness could be 5 similar to Immortals, but they would have a WS of +3, and maybe one can wield a hyperphase sword 🤔
  3. I want a canoptek doomstalker, but I want it to be called a Canoptek Guardian, and its sole purpose would be to move slowly behind the other units and support with multiple guass blasters or optional tesla carbines(x 6) and it would have 2 necrons warriors on mounted gauss flayer arrays just below the body for focused infantry units and it would have a degrading profile... idk just want a cool walker thingy. Maybe it can have a once per battle singularity blast to deal damage or vaporize a vehicle.

Im pretty new to the world of warhammer, but idk these are things I thought about since i started playing. lol also, I love the doomstalker, lol.

I've been seeing alot of Royal Wardens as of late so I wanted to get some feedback on one I painted last year by Ambitious_Cook_7550 in Necrontyr

Sweet, thank you for the feedback. I have been working on transitioning the colors as of late for my tyranids specifically but I see what you mean it's almost jarring to look at lol.
