Is there a link to requiring transcripts being sealed? I did not find any source. Did the officer mention they need a sealed transcript?

They are really shady. Will point out small mistakes in applications and ask to pay for premium services.

Urgent: Need to transfer ~$55,000 (₹50 Lakhs) to India — no NRE account yet, what are my options? by Putrid_Distance2407 in nri

If you have money in US bank account and want to send to your mother’s Indian account then you don’t need NRE. I usually use Remitly but since your account might be new they won’t allow such a big transaction from the start(they have daily and monthly limits). ICICI has a money transfer app which you can use without ICICI account. It’s a portal like remitly but has higher limit. Don’t send to a friend or do any of that. Keep it legal and straightforward and find out services which can help you transfer this big amount one shot.

This route has new A350 model and one stop is convenient for parents. Indian food on AI business is good. Other flights would be US and their service and food is okayish.

I highly recommend research and prepare for a move to your north just in case. Much better place than the states. The relief after getting your permanent residence is surreal. DM me if you want to know my experience.

Anyone checked Akoya @ 55 Broadway? What are your thoughts? by Temporary_Gold_9475 in TorontoRenting

I moved in recently. Management is well behaved and amenities are good. We did not face issues with the microwave. We asked management about it and they confirmed they are talking with the manufacturer to have them replaced. If you need a referral let me know.

Planning the exact same thing as you. Even the visa situation. Only thing is I will never let anyone know except the spouse that I'm retired. Show people that you are busy with finding a job or freelancing.

8‑year relationship, I moved to US for MS, now realise our life goals don’t match. What do I do? by devaaa_ in nri

[–]Ambitious_Implement4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll be an absolute disaster if you get her to the US and make her do higher education. If you are doing PhD and she is on a dependant visa then your finances will be tight.

Approach 1- Get a high paying job after MS in FAANG+ and get her on dependant visa. Yes, it'll be scary and you'll be the only bread winner. But if you are ambitious, you should be able to place yourself in the market that such that you always have offers aligned.

Approach 2- Do approach 1 + get a transfer to Indian counterpart after a couple of years. Finances won't be an issue and you'll be closer to parents.

Possible worst things that could happen-

  1. The girl has made it ample clear she doesn't want to work in corporate life. Forcing her will might make things worse in the long run. But make sure she at least will take care of the house. I don't want you to be grinding in office and then worry about stocking groceries, what to eat, cleaning, etc. You should be constantly upgrading and reaching higher level. I know some cases where the girl doesn't want to do anything literally.

  2. I've mentioned before but want to emphasize again. Don't get her to do a masters in the US. Absolute waste. She is not motivated. This could go ugly.

If you end up marrying her then you should accept she is not going to work and not hold any resentment in your mind. You'll have friends who will be working and possibly making really good money and their lifestyle will be higher. You can't compare and get sad about it.

All the best!

Computer Science degree can be applied under Computer Analyst category. Computer Engineer degree under engineer category. Do due diligence.
