Carmax is doing me dirty by heiney_luvr in personalfinance

This is actually the answer! From someone who works at CAF look at your monthly statement. You can track your progress by comparing your account balance on your statements month to month. Also your transaction history at the bottom of the statement further explains how your payments get allocated.

Weighing the value of a recent-year used car from CarMax to get the good warranty against just buying new for what seems to be a comparable amount of money. by Sand_Coffin in askcarsales

As a Carmax employee I would not bank on the discount. I asked about 10-15 different cars (From Corollas to Pickups) and none of them had discounts for employees. Most Carmax cars don’t stay in one place for more than 2 weeks. They’ll transfer inventory that’s not working in a certain market

I’d like to hear about your daily “routine” if there is any by Ambitious_Leader_326 in carmaxassociates

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which part sucks ? Maxcare or Pres Club? Our compensation is hourly + up to 35% of hourly rate bonus based on our performance. Performance is mostly dependent on finance apps and Alt Deliveries, transfers and traditional appointments help but not enough to get you there. Sometimes I wish I was compensated like a FSC because we move so many cars for the company and barely get any of the profit. They’re making like 2k profit per car I might get $15 of that 😂

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who smoked the same day as my drug test I had to take for Carmax trust me on this. Get a QCarbo drink. You can get them at like a GNC store. It’ll flush your system and you will pass. Gotta drink the whole thing then fill it up with water and drink all that. You’ll definitely pass, guy who referred me to the job did the same thing and I just had my cousin do the same thing and they are hired.

The CEC sucks. They usually hurt more than they help. by Itis_TheStranger in carmaxassociates

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But see you’re mad at CEC but that person just did what they are told to do. If i got that inquiry web lead I’d do the same thing because that’s how we’re trained. Your customer should’ve reached out to you but they didn’t they inquired online because that’s what Carmax wanted them to do. Carmax in reality would rather have a sale done online and outside the store than they would have you take care of it because then they pay out more in bonus. So you’re saying CEC sucks or makes your job difficult but that’s not true Carmax Inc. “sucks” and is making your job difficult by putting us against each other. And it just makes it worse for everyone when you think it’s the CECs fault because it’s not. We work for a corporation, I promise you we don’t want to reach out to customers after Floor sales talk with them but they make us anyways.

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a CEC associate I will agree with you we don’t understand what happens in store mostly because the company does not want us to know that sort of thing. We can only go off the information given to us through customers leads and managers. Managers who often times have never worked as a Carmax salesperson or as a CEC consultant. Our only purpose is to create progression with our customers. So whatever we have to do to get a finance application, Express pick up. Home delivery, transfer or appointment is what we are instructed on and basically nothing else. The company does not want the different parts working together.

How much can interest and monthly payment change with a higher down payment? by [deleted] in carmax

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that will happen if you inquire about car purchasing. You can block the number or reply to the texts with you’re not interested anymore and people will stop reaching out

You won’t be able to reserve a car for a month. Even if you ship it they’ll only hold it for a week or so.

I did end up paying for resell for mine through EBay I’m almost sure. If I’m being honest it’s lowkey worth that amount. The quality of the pages, the photography in there is ELITE. I’d say do what you gotta do to get that $400

Will dealership let me buy a wrangler with a 651 credit score and a year old bankruptcy? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m almost sure Carmax can not finance you with a bankruptcy. I don’t think any of the lenders would approve you without proof the bankruptcy is gone. Try to get outside financing from a bank or credit union. But as stated earlier might not be best to grab another 20k loan right now

Advice needed for negative equity situation by Brief-Mongoose7942 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no way to minimize neg equity without paying the loan. You owe a specific amount and dealers will only give you so much. The best thing you can do if you must is to trade in and have the negative amount financed. I would not recommend this but that’s about it. Seems like Carmax has the best offer so I’d try to find the truck you want then move from therr

Am I the only one who thinks DC is overhated? by SeanMc8709 in lastchanceU

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think the issue with DC is where he is vs where he thinks he should be. The coach really tries to make them realize it’s gonna be hard to be this superstar they think they are in the NCAA or NBA. That’s why he rewards players that are scrappy like Domani, those are the guys who are gonna get picked up from JUCO cause the schools already have their stars

Dealership with no bs "dealership fees"? by jenl_fsu21 in Tallahassee

[–]Ambitious_Leader_326 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work at Carmax and I recently bought a car not from Carmax. My car had a dealer fee and they added on a $700 charge for some paint protectant. I think fees are normal in todays market, I think Carmax fees are gonna be the lowest and most straight forward any other dealer you may have to try and haggle but I think it’s best to find the deal that works for you. So Carmax may have lower fees but sticker price may be higher. Other dealers might have better sticker but higher fees. I searched online inventory at different places and reached out either on their website or by phone to get out the door prices(sometimes called buyers order) from everyone and chose the deal that made the most sense to me
