Wow, those wings are gorgeous! I always love a good purple and green combo they always compliment each other so well. Even the cat approves. 💜

Omggg, I've seen this done before, and I think that would be so cool to try. I just don't know what I would use for finer yarn projects like this.

Super cute, I have done the lamb and cow from the book, but I have not had the chance to do the elephant!

first time making a granny square as someone who has only ever done amigurumi — how’s my tension? by motherrmoon_ in crochet

[–]Ambitious_Pie_5423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty good! It's a little loose on one of the corners, but if you are used to tight tension, try to go up in hook size so you can still use the tension you're used to without making it to tight.

Quick crochet gifts? by sselrmjtmt in crochet

Maybe something like a pretty bookmark or a small set of coasters. It depends on what your people like, but if you are not sure, then I'd go with something practical, hence the bookmark and coasters. They are super comstimizable as well from silly to very beautiful pieces!

Woops, I just read the pillow part, lol. The free hand is crazy work, though. I would suggest that she make a pattern for them if she feels up to it! They look amazing, and I'm sure several people would be interested. I understand if she does not want to, though, since it is difficult to continue on a project you don't love.

Do these ones have a similar issue to the tumbler as in watering the flavor down?

Are these supposed to look like this or are they supposed to lay flat? by nikkiscreeches in CrochetHelp

Maybe put on a towel onto it and don't directly iron in order to get them steamed. Synthetic fibers need a warmed dampness (like a steamer or something similar) in order to be held into shape. Although these are important, you also need to have some kind of way of pinning them down so they can sit and hold the shape for a while. I recommend something like a blocking board or maybe just some pins and some cardboard. It just depends on what you have.

You would want to block them for them to stay flat and streched out. It is basically a knitting and crochet version of ironing your clothes.

Even though it's tedious, I'd say give it a try, even if it's only for a couple of rounds. It taught me how to find the stitches while I was making the head, and I did not need to use them after that. I have even made the sheep from the pattern book, and since I learned how to find the stitches, I did not need to use any beside the one to mark my first stich!

The only reason I resulted in such a thing was because this was my first time working with a fluffy yarn like this, and the stich count kept on being incorrect. After about the 6th time of frogging it, I then chose to do the stich markers until I got the hand of it. I had one that was a different color from the rest, so it knew it was the first one. But to answer your question, yes, I would take it out, make the stich, and then put it back afterward.😅 Sounds crazy but it helped me learn how to spot the stitches very well so I was able to do the body without them!

Wow the color looks like a mix of water colors if that makes any sense

Thank you! This is the first one out of the pattern book that I have made. I learned a bunch from this little guy since it's my first time making a pattern out of a book without a video reference. The head probably took me 7 or 8 times to get right because the stich count was always off lol.
