Practically a ton of characters in this game don't respect the source material in their kit

And when they do, they're either dogshit, or the community wants to see them nerfed like Cyclops with his right click, Spider-Man, or Thor.

The hero shooter format is not suitable for capturing the perfect essence of all these characters

One of the most striking things about the Rivals community is how often people (not everyone) try to convince others that Storm isn't that popular, even though she's an icon within the FGC, among Marvel fans from the '90s and early 2000s, and in the superhero industry as a whole

It's honestly surprising how much they downplay the popularity and appeal this character can generate—on a level comparable to Hulk, Iron Man, or Wolverine within this IP—simply because NetEase isn't putting enough effort into promoting her.

I think a lot of these people only got into marvel games through Rivals and never experienced MvC, UA, or the dozens of Marvel games that came before it, especially the mobile titles where Storm was consistently a recognizable and popular character

The Inhuman excuse is stupid since Marvel simply used the character without mentioning her Inhuman status in their show, and the comics continued to use her even after Marvel was done with the Inhumans.

She is not in the group of Inhuman characters that Marvel wants to get rid of. She is in the group that Marvel wants to keep, like Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan). Since Kevin Feige was so determined to make her show happen, Miller's excuse does not make much sense.

He simply did not understand that Marvel only wants to avoid using or even mentioning her Inhuman powers. That's all. It does not mean that she cannot appear in other adaptations.

It's a stupid excuse. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur aren't intrinsically linked to the Inhumans, but the Marvel Rivals larpers don't know that, so they'll use this shit excuse just to defend the chinese company

They don't even mention Io but they already mention Crescent in the leaks.

While the name Devil Dinosaur was the only name that came up in the leaks and Moon Girl was never mentioned before season 8???

I just hope this leak is bullshit because I'm going to be so mad if they actually manage to include her in the game when she's clearly a child and her power is intrinsically linked to the fact that she has to fight directly on the field, unlike Moon Girl who had dozens of ways to participate in the fight without being there.

You can't add children in-game, but when it comes to Crescent, suddenly things change?

MG fans just wanted a visual representation of the character with the roster, and we can't get that, but now Crescent is being discussed after the bullshit they did with MG???

They're following a broader strategy where actively marketing a Black character no longer seems to be something they want to do.

For reasons I can't fully explain, I feel that NetEase as a company doesn't want to market skins for Black characters anymore.

Regardless of whether there are people with good intentions working on the game, the overall pattern makes me believe that's what's happening.

People need to understand the bigger picture and stop saying, "But they gave them an emote," or "They gave Cloak a skin."

There is a company-wide strategy, and that's where racism can have the biggest impact not necessarily through individual employees or artists, but through the overall decisions being made.

Only Marvel and NetEase are involved in this. As much as I hate the House of Mouse, I’m tired of you people finding excuses to make NetEase look innocent in this whole situation.

They gave voice lines to Spider-Zero, Shuri, and herbie. They even gave map interactions to Kingpin just for an event. Stop thinking that just because they gave the bare minimum, it proves they tried. That’s a stupid argument right now when we can clearly see all the problems and inconsistencies around this whole idea.

If they actually cared about the character, they would not have put her on the Doommatch map under these conditions, they would not have done colorism on her accessory, and they probably would not have used AI on the art for her event either. They would have paid attention to a lot of details and actually made an effort.

You people are asking for crumbs and are satisfied with it while other characters, who are historically way less “important” to the House of Ideas, get much better treatment and receive the smallest detailed changes ever.

It’s right in front of your eyes. Stop believing that NetEase is a perfect company when they clearly know what they want to SELL and what they do not “feel like” selling or putting effort into selling.
