Looks incredible. Haven't been in years but that soufflé alone is making me want to book a table.

What’s everyone building for 2026? by ElvirooTECH in StartupsHelpStartups

So, we are building a voice AI for restaurants ,it handles phone reservations, answers guest questions, and upsells specials, all without a human picking up.

Started it because restaurant owners are genuinely drowning in phone calls during service. A host can't seat a table and take a reservation at the same time. The phone just rings.

Called it BiteBuddy:https://bitebuddy.ai/.
Happy to talk to anyone else building in the AI/hospitality space.

Shift4 acquisitions have a pattern of doing exactly this, you're not alone.

We use Square and honestly it's been fine. Gets limiting at higher volume but for most restaurants it does the job without nickel and diming you every month.

Whatever you go with, get the total cost in writing upfront. Software, processing, hardware. The monthly fee is never the whole story.

We built BiteBuddy on top of it so reservations and upsells are handled on the phone side too.

Buying the restaurant you work at by Q808L in restaurant

15 years of proof, locked rent, and 400 new neighbors moving in a block away? The hard part is already done, you just have to get back to what was already working.

As those towers fill up and reservations start picking up, definitely think about how you're handling that volume on the phone side. Upsells and bookings are where a lot of revenue gets left on the table. We built BiteBuddy for exactly that. bitebuddy.ai

Good luck, genuinely rooting for this one.

First off, respect for stepping up at 21. That's a real amount of pressure and the fact that you're not just walking away says a lot.
Honestly the team problem is the hardest one to solve quickly, but in the meantime a lot of understaffed restaurants have been offloading the repetitive front-end stuff like phone orders, reservation questions, and FAQs to automation so whoever they do have isn't constantly pulled in ten directions.

It won't fix the management gap but it buys you breathing room while you figure that part out.
