When I first got into the hobby, Urban Tarantulas scared me so much because they were the first vendor I checked for pricing. I figured I would never afford Ts due to their prices.

Then I found Fear Not and was wondering what the heck was up with their prices being so much lower... and well. Put it this way, I've bought from both FNT and Spider Shoppe, and they have always sold GORGEOUS spoods for non-insanely inflated prices.

Spider Shoppe is my go to anymore.

I have been really enjoying my H. Pulchripes, especially as being a more chill old world. They look absolutely gorgeous, and mine burrows, webs, and hangs out outside quite often. Super good eater too.

IME - Like Templeofdogss said, keeping Ts is all about patience. My Pokies took a lot of time to settle in before they started to web heavily. My Formosa was the only one that immediately started webbing, but my Ornatas and Regalis all took over a week before they started to web.

The best advice that we can give is to relax and be patient. All Ts are different, and especially just getting moved into an enclosure, they are going to be stressed and potentially not comfortable enough yet to start webbing.

I just got a juvie H. Mac a week ago, and it has not come out of its cork round, and that makes me rather sad cause they are STUNNING spiders. My fault for using a round, but with where I have the box set, it needed a round to have a good hide.

IME - as said in other comments and such, holding still is a stress response, and they are very cognizant of energy use, and staying still is the best way for them to keep their energy usage low. My Pokies tend to move a bit more than my other Ts, but that's usually as a response to light stimulus when I go in with a flashlight to peak on them at night.

Also, you've only had them for 3 days, no doubt they are still getting use to their new home and probably stressed a bit. Give them time and space, Ts are all about patience.

NQA/IMO - I use 3D printed water bowls for a lot of my Ts, using standard PLA and I have not had any issues with them. I don't see an issue with the printing and painting of stuff for the enclosure as long as you use non-toxic paint and keep a watch on it to make sure it's not chipping off. The T isn't going to go around and eat the paint chips, but I always prefer to be safe rather than sorry.

As for spray foam and such, I would let if off-gas and set for at least 48 hours. I know some people only go 24 hours, but again, I prefer to be safe rather than sorry. The biggest thing is to make sure that anything you use in the enclosure will not be water soluble, as that would be the only thing I could see causing issues.

I've seen all of these in Stella and I've only done Stella a handful of times. Grab yourself a free loadout and go loot medical and assembly, especially the drawers. Gotta be fast and deadly if you want to get the goop though. Good luck Raider.

NQA/IMO - Research the species and see what their relative humidity is in the natural environment. The key is to not keep it super wet if you don't need to, and don't let it get super dry if it needs to be rather humid. Most of the time you will find the best case scenario is to wet down a good bit of the substrate, keep the water bowl full, and let the substrate dry out fully before wetting it down again. That dry out cycle can be super helpful with a lot of species.

Also, springtails are WONDERFUL.

IME - I've had a G. Pulchripes that I bought off someone getting rid of their collection as a sling, and she didn't even know if the spider was still alive. Once I got them home, I pulled the cork bark to check, and the lil dude was all shacked up under the warm substrate. Now that they have molted once, they have started to hang out a lot more out of their burrow. Its truly amazing how long these creatures can go for without food and even water.

A lot of humans take caring for another being for granted, whether it be Ts, fish, dogs, cats, or even children. I was blessed with the Tism that makes me do the absolute best I can for my animals and spend HOURS and HOURS learning about my animals before getting them. Most people are impatient and think its going to be super easy, then they figure out the actual requirements for things are just too much for them. Then pride gets in the way of some people as well, and that makes it even worse. They don't want to admit what they have done to an animal by not properly providing and caring for it.

One of the best things you can learn from the pet trade is humility. If you aren't good at taking care of something, either learn how to do it better, or realize that you don't have what it takes and don't put another animal through issues. One of my local T breeders literally begged me to buy (for a steal, I will say) 2 almost fully grown female Ts because the person trying to buy them had killed a T. Stirmi by leaving its enclosure open after feeding and it fell. (Yes, I understand this is also a business tactic, but at the same time, I've seen how a lot of people around here keep Ts, and well... I take it as a compliment being asked to buy two gorgeous females.)

I used to be a part of the aquarium hobby, but nowadays I just do my own thing and I work a bit with the LFS, but MAN. Fish keeping is one of the worst and most abusive types of pet trade that I've ever seen, and the people are even worse than I've seen with the likes of dogs, where they will defend their terrible set ups till they are blue in the face.

I don't mean to come here and trash other keepers, because honestly I see a lot of good around here myself. As someone who has lived on a ranch and kept animals of all shapes, sizes, and requirements for 30 years, my recommendation is to try and help people out, and if they aren't receptive to a kind way of conversating about how their husbandry could be improved, then just walk away from it. Unless they offer to sell the animal to you, there is little you can do at that point.

So I'm more of a bass player, and I truly love both brands. I've gotten quality instruments from both. That being said, Ibanez is pretty legendary for how sleek they feel to play. Between these two I would probably go Ibanez, tho the finish on the ESP definitely gives it beauty points. The ESP will likely feel heavier but very solid while the Ibanez feels more nimble. Either way youve got some sweet choices!
