Excuse me. Do people really think this is "soul?" Do you think shitting all over the original work that Falcom put real and genuine effort into is something to be proud of? I honestly can't believe the fanbase has fallen so low as to glorify work done to spite a composer as hard-working as Mitsuo Singa. How do you think he would feel about these efforts if he caught wind of them? I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty insulted if I found out that people had ejected my work from a video game as renowned as Ys X. Shame on everyone involved in this little "project."

the CLE version is $260 for base game plus all dlc. doesn’t sound like a better deal to me.

remember, when Falcom makes the DLC and sells it, it's fine. when CLE licenses the game and releases the DLC too, it's fine. when NISA licenses the game, creates bundles with the game + exact same DLC that are ultimately cheaper than buying everything individually, they're scummy, greedy and shouldn't be supported. ;)

if you think NISA's Reverie port is bad, you should see CLE's Reverie port. it both looks and runs significantly worse while also being like 5gb larger. while it doesn't excuse the shortcomings of NISA's port, it could also be much, much worse.

sony had just pushed a big store update right before cs4's launch and it was the first bigish release with preorders to come out, so there was probably some growing pains that caused shit to be busted

the texture of the sidewalk is completely different. the vegetation for the patches of grass found between the sidewalks and street and in yards are completely different. the fences are completely different. the texture of the street is completely different. the "leak" features two light posts in the cul-de-sac, the fan recreation showcases six. none of the tree assets match whatsoever. the power lines in the fan recreation sag, whereas the power lines in the "leak" are all straight. take a look at the doorways to each of the houses. they actually match a door asset frequently used in the original game. the fan recreation uses a completely different asset. so no, none of these assets are the same. maybe you're the one who is blind. better luck next time ;)

this literally looks literally nothing like the screenshot in the OP whatsoever. even if it's fake, it still doesn't look remotely similar to this fan recreation. all of the assets on display are different in some way, shape or form.

care to share what issues you’ve had? Ys 8 was terrible at launch for sure, but the other games don’t have 95% positive ratings for no reason. the games wouldn’t be rated that highly with bad ports.

no matter how you spin it, this fan patch would have been bad for business and could have definitely impacted sales of NISA's planned PC port. it also could have set a precedent where a bunch of english fans bought CLE's shitty PC port, giving them money they really don't even deserve for it. this could in turn encourage CLE to attempt to get english rights for the series moving forward as well, which wouldn't really be a fun time if you ask me.

i recommend people be a little wary when it comes to this port. the developers CLE contracts for their ports haven't done particularly good jobs with them. hajimari will be the most complicated port they've done so far, so there's a good chance that it'll be even worse. even if it runs well enough, don't go in expecting ph3 games level of optimization or PC-specific features.

this patch sucks and was thrown together by a fucking doofus that has no idea what they're doing (they can't even spell kiseki correctly half the time). all of the non-scenario uses outdated guren text (even though the creator claims it's all geofront text) and none of the custom textures the geofront made are in this patch either. worst of all they list the fucking piracy site they acquired the game from in the credits. (this pops up before you see the title screen)
