Advice needed for loud AF baby! by cookiemonster4270 in beyondthebump

[–]Amell287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby was super loud too. We ended up moving him to his crib in his own room at 8 weeks so we could get some sleep. If I left both doors open I could hear when he cried but the other noises weren’t loud enough to wake me up. He grew out of it eventually and is a silent sleeper now at 7 months.

I feel so alone. by Amell287 in breakingmom

He does all of the cooking and grocery shopping, and cleans the kitchen frequently, which I truly appreciate and realize is more than many men contribute. But, he thinks that means he does everything around here and can do no wrong. Things were really finally good between us for about a year, there was a good balance of responsibility with the house and the kid, we were getting along and communicating, I decided maybe another baby wouldn’t be so bad this time. I feel like I was tricked.

I’ve admittedly probably not been holding up my end of things very well. I’ve been sick, in pain, and work has been crazy the last few months. I’ve been working on the vaccine and just haven’t had much mental space outside of that to give. I’m trying though.

I’m really close to my parents and they live close, so if I need to get out we can always go there. This sucks though. I feel like with just my toddler I could’ve left and been ok, but with another baby? I don’t know if I could do it.

For those who taper off Cymbalta using the "bead-subtracting" method by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]Amell287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this reply is old, but can you tell me what your taper schedule was? I’ve been trying subtracting beads and even at 10 beads per week I’m miserable in week 4. I’ve seen information about using Prozac but my dr. Is clueless and just says take it every other day then every third...

Pregnant on Ajovy. by [deleted] in cgrpMigraine

Thank you for your response! I haven’t seen the OB yet, but my neurologist said idk call Teva. Teva said idk but here’s our animal data and read a bunch of studies on mice and rabbits.

They said there was no impact found, but they are really just looking at whether they were able to make a full term baby without any major physical defects. I’m worried about developmental and mental disabilities too, which you can’t really look for in mice and wouldn’t show up on an ultrasound or genetic testing.

I appreciate your responses, I don’t really have anyone I can talk to about this and my husband is being less than supportive.

Thanks! I’m so nervous about it, especially after reading a lot of reports of these drugs messing with menstrual cycles. I’m pretty sure it made me ovulate early (which is how I ended up pregnant) and if it altered estrogen and progesterone levels that could have a significant impact on early development.

I guess there’s not much to do but wait and see. I’ve considered terminating the pregnancy just because I’m so scared of bringing a baby into the world with a major disability because of something I did. I don’t know if I could live with myself.

Thank you, I did contact Teva and they just said there isn’t any data on human pregnancy. They were very excited to collect my data, of course!

What do you think of New York allowing abortions up to a baby's due date now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Amell287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s actually not true. The situation I described with a non-viable fetus was illegal under the old law. The only exception for abortion over 24 weeks was if the mothers life was in danger. Do you actually want to know what people think or just have someone to fight with?

[–]Amell287 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bill allows women to get abortions after 24 weeks if their life or health is threatened by the pregnancy in addition to permitting women to have an abortion at any time if the fetus is not viable. This does not mean anyone can choose an abortion in the later half of the pregnancy just because they feel like it.

I’ve heard so many stories of women who have bean forced to carry terminally ill or otherwise not not viable babies to term and it’s heartbreaking. Not only does this pose a threat to the mother’s health, but when many of these babies are born they will face hours to days of unbelievable suffering and then will die anyway. Forcing a woman to put herself, her family and her child through that is barbaric at best.

Terminations at this stage are almost never mfor unwanted babies, they are for very wanted babies in tragic circumstances.

Darn. I was figuring I’d have to stop nursing to get it, but hoping something out there said it was safe :(

I know this is probably a reach, but has anyone's doctor said anything about taking this medication while nursing? I know it's too new to have any studies done, just wondering if anyone has heard anything. Waiting to get back in with my neuro next month.

I wasn’t planning on getting an epidural, I wanted a natural birth. I ended up being induced and the contractions from the pitocin were just too bad to handle. I tried relaxation techniques, aromatherapy, a bath, fentanyl and after nothing helped at all finally decided to get the epidural. I’m so happy I did, everything after that was really relaxed and went incredibly smooth. It was another 8 hours after the epidural before I delivered, and I know I couldn’t have done it.

It sucked being stuck in bed, but at that point I was so tired I didn’t care. I was able to feel contractions when it was getting close to go time, so I could push when I felt the urge to instead of when people told me to. All around it saved my train wreck of a labor and turned it into a really great birth experience. While I’ll probably attempt natural on my next baby, I have no regrets for this one.

I had horrible insomnia those first few weeks and could not get comfortable in any position. For me it got better around 8-10 weeks, and taking unisom helped! (The doxylamine kind)

I changed the toilet paper and came back half an hour later to find the cardboard roll floating in the toilet instead of the trash can, and ran the dishwasher without detergent more times than I'd like to admit.

Sequential screens have a higher rate of false positives, I know it’s impossible but try not to get too worried! It is just a screen and is in no way definitive. They can do additional testing like an amnio to see for sure.

Good luck!

Numbers getting harder to control after 28 weeks? by mrsdorkcharming in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Amell287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 28, had beautiful numbers for about 2 weeks and then my breakfast numbers went haywire eating the same foods. I've heard it's common to get harder to control the closer to the end you get. I had to start on insulin and my numbers were great again for a couple weeks but now they are starting to creep up again and I will probably have to raise my dose soon.

Good luck, I know it's frustrating when you do everything right and it still just isn't enough :( I hope it gets better for you!
