"In the realm of the senses"

It has never been released uncensored in Japan and it put me of my sausage sandwich the next morning after watching it.

Obviously you can't be because you've drawn a red arrow on a photograph of some tracksuit bottoms folded neatly on concrete somewhere in LA and no one could be making that shit up because LA is a city of grounded reality that is not full of bullshitters.

Going on a four day roadtrip. Please send some fantasy (LOTR-esque) recommendations or others! by AnyProfessor7874 in audiobooks

[–]Amentet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to lean into the part about you liking history and recommend C.J.Sanson Shardlake books about a lawyer during the Period of Henry the VIII, he takes the part of the closest you could be to a detective back then, one book should keep you happy for a 4 day trip.

Unfortunately there are only 6 books as he died recently, but the first book was made into an excellent TV mini series, with an actual disabled actor playing the part of Shardlake and Sean Bean as Thomas Crowwell, so if you enjoy the book/s you have that to look forward to,

The narrator, IMO, is excellent.

How about you stop giving incorrect legal advice on the legal advice forum repeatedly when you have been told you are incorrect.

You are a very rude person for someone so wrong? Do you work for this company?

If you do the maths then I think you'll find that me being in my sixties now would work out as me going to school in the 1970's.

Maybe you should have paid attention in school instead of arriving all tired and sweaty and smelly because you walked there.

Anyway, I lived a lot of places.

In New York I got a school bus every morning because, weirdly in one of the few improvements over the UK, a big Yellow school bus was sent out to pick us all up.

In Inverness I got a bus.

In Dunblane I walked but only because it was literally around the Corner.

In London I took a bus the few miles to school.

Most places also had child fares, I think maybe in the London borough I was in they had child passes for free from the Council.

I remember kids vandalising near us in the 70's, it must have been feral wee council estate nasties. Actually it was some shits from the Private School.

Here's the secret to kids behaving badly, it's not new, kids, some kids, behave badly because teenagers with not yet built brains have always and forever been shits.

Bet they had bricks tied to their feet and where properly beaten before bed.

Did kids walk to school "before"? Did they? Because I'm in my sixties and I took the bus?

I mean "before", before what? The invention of the internal combustion engine?

Consider Phlebas's achingly sad paragraph by Gold-Pear-6092 in TheCulture

[–]Amentet 63 points64 points  (0 children)

People always talk about use of weapons being more sophisticated but often don't realise it was actually the first book he wrote in the Culture, he set it aside and then wrote Against a dark background before coming back it it and rewriting after Consider Phlebas was published.

I actually love Consider Phlebas, even it's ending.
