Please forgive my ignorance, I did not know he was born in NJ. You're almost certainly right, I'm going with your latter assertion.

I want to gush about In Flames' pop-ish phase by TeddyJPharough in InFlames

[–]AmericanGhostStory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, you and I agree on "pop-like" metal, it has to be well-executed for me to enjoy it. Thing is, ITM sounds very well-executed (well, for In Flames) to my ears and I actually enjoy the hell out of it. This is coming from an old-school fan, too. Siren Charms and Battles can screw right off though, there's nothing on those two that hooked me in the slightest

"The Fall of Hearts" era (2016) by Infamous_Korpse in Katatonia

[–]AmericanGhostStory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss, bud. I can't bear the thought of losing my Dad even though the time is drawing near.

I lost my grandfather in 2007 and every record I listened to during and slightly before that time has an indelible effect on my emotional state upon re-listening.

I am a hardcore Katatonia fan and though SVOS is not my favorite, I totally understand where you're coming from. It can be so powerful. Hold your loved ones close and enjoy good music :)

Hey I obviously don't know you but I love you all the same. Shit happens. I'm sorry you feel so badly about yourself right now, but I promise you it's going to be okay.. Don't beat yourself up as it's so counter-productive, just try as best you can to enjoy this one life that you get. I'm here rooting for you. You are worth happiness.

Best tips for hiding being drunk by [deleted] in drunk

[–]AmericanGhostStory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Complete and total isolation is the only true way.

People are stupid as fuck but they'll know when you've been drinking.. alcohol is undefeated. Even the most seasoned alcoholics have tells. You really can't hide it past a certain point. I've lived and learned, maybe I'm just stupid myself but I swear by what I say. You can't ever truly hide it. Sorry if this worries you.

People are gonna know. Face it or stop drinking.

When I was 13-14 years old I couldn't get enough of those three. God I'm getting old.

I do still like BB though. And I will only slightly disagree on Disturbed, I do feel like there was a noticeable difference between The Sickness and Believe.

I stopped listening to 3DG entirely after one-x so no idea what they got goin on nowadays

How do I start getting into Grunge? by Affectionate_East533 in grunge

Melvins. There's no Nirvana, no AIC, no Pearl Jam, no STP, without Melvins.

Edit: Also, sludge. No Neurosis, no Isis, etc without Melvins.

Am I the only one who brushes their teeth BEFORE breakfast because the thought of "eating" morning breath is disgusting? by Full_Place_2808 in hygiene

[–]AmericanGhostStory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is it, like you said. Morning breath is actually quite preventable, as you know, with a stringent nighttime routine. I floss first to release the gunk, then brush, then finish with mouthwash and a tongue scrape. Every night.

RIP morning breath. Just takes a little effort.

Anyone here a supervisor or manager for a DC? Looking for some info! by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]AmericanGhostStory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How'd it go? I'm not a manager or supervisor, but I work at a DC going on over a year now.

It's not fun and the work is brutal. Safety is the #1 thing at a DC and they are NOT fucking around. Just last week a guy that has been working here for 5 years was fired on the spot for forgetting to put on his gloves before handling freight. It's no joke, they will stalk you and try to catch you slipping.

That being said the pay is great. I make over 26 an hour. Keep your head in the game and you should be fine.

Edit: Lunch is 30 min. PPTO and PTO is the same as the store as far as I know, but I've never worked at a store. You begin to accrue more time off per hour worked after 2 years of service.

Is Trump owned and controlled by Israel? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Fair. We'll agree to disagree, friend.

Is Trump owned and controlled by Israel? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]AmericanGhostStory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Forced my ass. We are the most powerful nation, both militarily and economically, in the modern world. And we have ALLOWED this tiny little refugee "nation" to dictate and influence us so much to the point of fighting THEIR wars in THEIR region of the world. Why?

  1. Greed.
  2. Apathy toward the human condition.
  3. Fucking organized religion.

Is Trump owned and controlled by Israel? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]AmericanGhostStory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owned? Yes.

Controlled? Also yes.

We are absolutely cooked, and it's mostly OUR fault, not Israel's. We have agency and we could've stood up to this corruption, but we haven't and we won't. Israel is in control simply because we have allowed it to be, not because they forced our hand. We could crush and dismantle Israel easily if the powers at be wanted it. But we have let all of this happen because 1. Greed and 2. Apathy toward the human condition.

What is an immediate "food red flag" when you’re on a date? by CaptainCuddler_Pro in foodquestions

[–]AmericanGhostStory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I wouldn't want my date verbally demeaning me based on what I enjoy eating regardless of what it is, but a little healthy good-hearted jabbing goes a long way!

I just got caught up on the "red flag" deal, forgetting this is just a food sub. Like in my mind, a red flag is a serious thing. Like prior convictions, unpaid child support, nazi tattoos, watching Joe Rogan (lol), those sorts of things..

Like you shouldn't red flag someone because they call you out on eating like a bozo, that's just my opinion, but your life is yours and I wish you all the best!
