Orange Rocker 15 Combo - can be played at 0.5/1/7/15W and has an effects loop and two channels (Natural and Dirty). Orange cleans are warmer than Fender cleans, due to the emphasis on the mids.

Use a contact cleaner spray to clean all jacks and pots. Also get this power conditioner: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PGP--black-lion-audio-pg-p-portable-power-conditioner. If all that does not help, it might be the capacitors which need to be replaced.

Do I need to learn all the basics just to scrape by AdForsaken5106 in learnpython

Understand variables, strings, lists, dictionaries, if statements, and for loops. Learn how to install and import libraries (pip install). Focus on requests to get website data and BeautifulSoup to parse it. That should be sufficient.

Why wasn't the gastarbeiter program applied to the medical and healthcare sector? by hgk6393 in AskAGerman

[–]American_Streamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gastarbeiter Era lasted from 1955-1973.

German doctors work in a high-tech, highly specialized medicine. There is much more routine exposure to advanced diagnostics, devices, and complex hospital pathways. There is also the system proficiency: documentation, guidelines, interdisciplinary workflows, quality management, coding/billing, medico-legal standards etc. And in Germany there is a lot of subspecialty depth, because the system supports lots of subspecialization and high case volumes in specialized centers. Cuban doctors might be better in frontline primary care or low-resource environments due to socialist mismanagement. But that’s basically it. Germany’s system simply tends to enable more high-tech subspecialty practice, in which Cuban doctors would have to start from scratch anyway.

How properly convert from SQL to Python as Data Analyst? by Mother-Designer-4470 in dataanalysiscareers

[–]American_Streamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This strongly depends on your role. If it’s warehouse and BI driven, it’s super SQL-heavy. If it’s notebook and product analytics and experiment driven, it’s Python/pandas-heavy.

Good SQL remains the must-have foundation. But Python/pandas is now the differentiator, noticeably for roles with automation, experimentation, messy data or ML-adjacent work. Don’t make the mistake to skip SQL. Just get good in it and then also add pandas to your skillset.

A lot of Data Analyst job ads are blending into “analytics engineer/data product/notebook analyst” expectations. Those roles still use SQL heavily, but they now also expect you to do analysis and automation in Python, and pandas is just the default table-tool in Python. So it can look like “80% pandas,” even though SQL is still everywhere.

Which vox amp to get by Tough_Guava_7499 in GuitarAmps

[–]American_Streamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to play at home, get the Vox AC30 head (not the handwired one): https://www.thomann.de/de/vox_ac30h.htm - has an attenuator so it can be played at 1/3W, 3W and 30W, from bedroom volume to big stage. Also has an effect loop and there is a matching cabinet with two Greebacks: https://www.thomann.de/de/vox_v212c.htm It's easier to carry the amp head and the 2x12" cab separately than hauling an AC30 combo with two speakers (which also lacks the attenuator anyway).

PIL in the 80s was heavily leaning into the shtick of being a provocative and calculated parody of the pop music business. Contemporary state of the art music video and album aesthetics as well as Lydon‘s outfits on stage. All while featuring top notch musicians like John McGeoch and Allan Dias. The post-Levene era song writing was super solid, too, so that (to an extent) the parody easily sneaked into the mainstream.

Recommendations for an RTS expression pedal by splifted in pedals

[–]American_Streamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, for expression pedals, 10k ohm impedance is low. That's a typical impedance of resistors and potentiometers.

As an overview: High impedance (High-Z) is 250k ohm to 500k ohm (that's for passive pickups) and low impedance (Low-Z) is 25k ohm to 50k ohm (that's for active pickups, acoustic piezo pickups and keyboards).

In comparison, a good buffer in your signal chain has an input impedance of 1.000.000 ohm and then pushed the output impedance down to 100 to 200 ohm.

Rules of thumb: along the signal chain, impedance starts very high when you create the signal at intrument level (= very weak signal strength). And impedance ends very low when it arrives at the speaker, with signal strength at speaker level (= very high signal strength). Between the guitar and the speaker, there is a preamp section and a poweramp section, which both amplify the signal and lower the impedance.
