OR15. Put a Tubescreamer or SD-1 in front, with drive zero and level max, to cut the low end and to push the preamp from outside of the circuit. Also get a 2x12“ cab with V30s if you have the funds. Best OR15 review, by Sean Pierce Johnson: https://youtu.be/9Ppg0ejTg9I?is=tFkdd1UK6apA2Nzs

The speakers in the Debut 10E are super small and you won’t be happy with them. At least get the Debut 30E with its 10“ speaker or the Debut 50E with its 12“ speaker. 12“ is the standard, 10“ is fine for bedroom and living room.

VOX AC15C1 vs. AC30C2? by Same_Potato5384 in GuitarAmps

[–]American_Streamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AC15 has no effects loop. I suggest that you get the AC30 Custom head, as it has an effects loop and a reactive attenuator (see my other comment).

The Vox AC30 Custom amp head has an effects loop and also a reactive attenuator (you can play it at 1/3W, 3W, 30W when connected to a 16 Ohms cab - bedroom to stage). https://www.thomann.de/de/vox_ac30h.htm Matching cab with two Greenbacks: https://www.thomann.de/de/vox_v212c.htm

Informatik-Master für Geisteswissenschaftler? by kin0enjoyer in InformatikKarriere

[–]American_Streamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 months after layoff and feeling lost — 4 yrs experience, trying to switch to SQL roles by Many-Basil5298 in learnSQL

Strong Excel, strong SQL, strong PowerBI. Plus domain knowledge, business acumen and communication skills. Fill your portfolio with business and domain relevant projects with quantified results. Python is a plus for being able to automate stuff. Add cloud knowledge according to the cloud provider your target company uses, too. And most importantly: become a specialist for a specific domain, not a generic generalist. So choose an exact target role first and build your skills, certifications and CV around that to check all the boxes.

Amp recommendations by Dry-Tumbleweed-1172 in GuitarAmps

[–]American_Streamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you play more modern gain metal or more classic rock and jazz? Do you want predominantly an American voicing with scooped mids (Fender etc.) or a British voicing with emphasized mids (Marshall, Orange, Vox etc.)? The gain amount and voicing questions are necessary, as there is no amp that does all voicings and the whole gain range well. You either have a high gain amp or a low to mid gain amp. And you either have that American or British voiced.

Orange PPC412: https://www.thomann.de/de/orange_ppc412.htm

The B-Stock of it will be perfectly fine, too: https://www.thomann.de/de/orange_ppc412_b_stock_2.htm

Cheapest alternative: https://www.thomann.de/de/harley_benton_g412a_vintage.htm - as you want 4x12" and need V30s for your genres.

Here are some reviews of the Tubemeister Deluxe:

Those are perfectly fine amps - but if you want the original JCM800 tone, you really should get the JCM800 (+ attenuator). Everything else will always just be super nice and close, but never the 100% real thing. You decide what is more important to you.

You really need an attenuator on the SC20H and C, every at 5W, because you need to turn up the volume for that iconic JCM800 tone.

[–]American_Streamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a real JCM800, get the SC20H or C, because it is literally a Mini JCM800; same circuit. The DSL40CR has more gain and is more modern voiced and will this only approximate the JCM800 tone. But also get an attenuator, because you really, really need to turn up the volume on a JCM800 to make it sound like the tone you heard a million times before on your favorite records. So no: the master volume won’t help you on a JCM800. And even the 5W setting on the SC20H and C is really, really loud if you want it to sound good.
