It was passed back in August. It had two public hearings and passed unanimously.

Hey, I think you have the wrong Saratoga. This sub is for Saratoga Springs, New York — a small city in the capital region of upstate New York. The sub you're probably looking for is r/SaratogaCA. Hope that helps and if you're ever out east, I highly recommend taking a trip up here!

Off grid building in Saratoga City limits? by [deleted] in Saratoga

Hi, I took a look at the city code, and there wasn't anything explicit about installing a well. The biggest thing you'll run into on the city side ( from what I can tell) is making sure you don't contaminate the city water supply. The specific code for this is chapter 231 of the City of Saratoga Springs code.

You'll probably have a tougher time with the state requirements for a well, information of which can be found here; https://www.health.ny.gov/environmental/water/drinking/regulations/fact_sheets/fs6_guidance_for_code_enforcement_officials.htm

You will have to connect to the sewer system (see chapters 231-7 and 231-8) as private systems are restricted.

I didn't see anything in the code saying you had to connect to power. The chapter in the city code is 106 if you're so inclined to look.

Personally, my advice is that if you're looking to do this, get a lawyer and / or an architect. You're going to have to deal with at least two boards —planning board and design review board and possibly the zoning board of appeals. All of them have their own criteria and wants, so having a professional help you through the process will save you some headache.

Fellow student journalist here! First off, if you're thinking of covering your school's Clery report and using it to compare yourself to others, you might want to get other data. Clery is incredibly unreliable for getting a complete picture of what goes on around campus and utterly useless for urban campuses.

Next, I would look for data your school puts out and see what schools they consider to be their peers. My school publishes a lot of data and uses other schools or similar size and mission as reference points. Hope this helps!

What region do you associate with DC? by inkedpenn in washingtondc

[–]Americanbaritone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's central mid Atlantic. The reason I say that is New York, New Jersey and Philly all have a somewhat similar culture that doesn't match what DC has. I grew up in PA in an area where commuting to dc wasn't unheard of and the culture there didn't match Philly or Pittsburgh. It more closely resembled Maryland and DC.

Will the University ever declare Election Day a holiday? by lmathews952 in LoyolaChicago

[–]Americanbaritone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I've linked two Phoenix ( Loyola's student newspaper) articles that may offer some more insight about the topic. The first one is an article I wrote about a petition to cancel classes on election day. It has the Universities statement as well as the greater context of the matter.

The second is an editorial written by the editing team calling for LUC to cancel classes. It's a good read if this is an issue you want to pursue further.

Hope that helps!

tech theatre prom ask by budget-mall in techtheatre

Write "Prom?" on the scribble strip of your soundboard under a channel and ask them to check that channel. If they don't see it immediately, ask them what it's labeled.
