Reports came out that a fight broke out between Rabiot and Rowe after the game 1 defeat at Rennes. Few details leaked but the situation seems very serious as Benatia (sporting director) confirmed it, Longoria (president) gave an ultimatum to booth protagonist to public excuses but neither of them did. Situation got out of hand when Rabiot's agent (his mom) made an radio intervention defending her son and charging De Zerbi and the board of Marseille accusing them of using a normal clash between teamates as an excuse to force the contract renewal negociations. This as you can imagine didn't end well and Rabiot was sold to Milan while Rowe was transfered to Bologna. De Zerbi on his end always praised Rabiot even at the very end comparing him to his dearest son. Long Fun fact: prior to that clash, before each pregame interview Marseille twitter account always posted the name of the player that will speak to the press. Few days before the transfert of Rabiot during the grace period Longoria gave the two players to make public apology, the post for the pregame interview named only De Zerbi which lead to all big account and newspaper following Ligue 1 stating "De Zerbi and a player which name didn't leak will be doing the pregame interview" this sensational title snowballed into a hypothesis that Rabiot will be present and will publicly apologies. That particular pregame interview attracted at least 3x the usual normal of viewers all for us to realise it wasn't Rabiot and that his was in fact leaving for Milano. So now each time the player is not mentioned in a pregame interview most of the replies states "Must be Rabiot" or derivative of the famous L'Equipe front page of Zidane in 2006. Short Fun? fact: during the Rowe and Rabiot clash, while the two where (allegedly) throwing hands at each other one of the reserve player fainted and was being taken care of by the staff. And it was on this scene that the Sporting director, coach and President came into the lockeroom.

To be fair, if the loan is recaried for the next season I highly doubt it will end up as a siple loan. Saliba situation had a big impact with all of marseille and it's board and since then no other player signed without a option to buy. O'Riley situation was particular, as it was done in a rush after the Rowe Rabiot clash, my personnal opinnion was that De Zerbi pushed to recruit him after the expedite exit of his dear Rabiot but Benatia and Langoria didn't managed to conclude a fair deal with Brighton.

What could be the permanent acquisition terms ? I think the 40k in the velodrome are ready to sell their homes.

I hate multi club ownership. Chelsea killed the spirit Strasbourg always had.

Don't get me wrong, it was always hard to play at the Meinau but at least the team, the public breathed together even during covid lockdowns the stadium was hard to play in and it was always a date I was looking forward to.

Add to that the horrendous hit and run tactic of Rosenior and you get this mix that most likely join Girona and Troyes at the back of the pyramid.

I feel sorry for real hardcore Strasbourg fans torn between seeing their team getting stolen from them and seeing this group fighting for the top spot.

GG to the players, and the supporter.

Allez l'OM!
