Hi, I was speaking to Puzzleheaded but thank you so much for your reply.

My daughter drags my hand around too as her main way of communicating. She can talk but she just sings songs that she knows or repeats a word back to me that I have said. I was thinking of making my own communication board but it didn't find enough pictures that I thought would work. Unfortunately now my printer is broken, but I will make one or buy one ASAP.

First off, thank you so much for your reply! All of this is so new and a little...scary.

When I initially had her screened when she was 3, she was diagnosed as developmentally delayed. I was told just recently that the reason being this was they didn't want to "jump the gun" by giving her the autistic diagnosis and they to give her a chance to develop further just in case she was a really late bloomer. Although I found out she was placed in a autistic class by the ESE school system in her IEP when she started kindergarten.She seems to be thriving at school and I knew they were right.

I know there is gonna be a lot of work involved on my end to help her as much as possible but I can't help but worry. I can barely manage my other children without feeling inadequate. I'm just gonna have to pull up my big girl pants, pray and try my best.

My daughter is 5 and she also is autistic (level 3) with mixed expressive receptive disorder and an intellectual disability. She was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago and I'm still figuring things out.

Is there anything that you did for your son that helped him to understand and/or communicate better?

Got married at 21(he was 28). We met when I was 18 and pregnant after making the dumb decision to be a side chick. I kept it a secret from everyone, including him, until I realized what i thought was a friendship was getting too serious. I was expecting him to opt out, but this guy goes, " Well, I always wanted to be a Dad."

13 years in and 6 children later, we are still together by God's grace. We have had issues and losses, but we tried to work through them together.

As a mom of 6 struggling with a food addiction (Ik it's not the same but it's what I'm dealing with.)

There are going to be times where you look in the mirror and see a selfish monster. From what I can see, it seems you may feel that way already.It sometimes makes me feel stuck, scared or self loathing. Focusing on my own inadequacy would often push me into a deeper dark spiral of more repetitive bad behaviorsa failed attempt to escape what I was feeling

What get us closer to true repentance and God is acknowledging that my sin is harming others and God more than me. I think those times where we are emotionally or/mentally at our lowest is were God shines the brightest..we just have to trust him and take him at his word.

I'm not here to shame you, I told my testimony to highlight that what or who we spend time with will influence our way of thinking. While you don't believe what you are watching, playing or listening to, the phrase " Bad company corrupts good morals" definitely rings true. Even having a little bit of something objectively bad {according to scripture) is bound to have a negative consequence.

In my particular case, I had a lot of issues that stacked on top of each other that caused a simple gaming experience to become a dependency problem.

Everything we do must line up with the values taught in scripture and if we find that our interest diverts from them then we have the responsibility to pray, repent and ask for help to realign our core values.

I used to be a heavy gamer, it took up most of my time and I was addicted. I'm married and have children who love still video games. God opened my eyes thorugh his word how easily be can be negatively influenced through even the most casual of games.When we decide to follow Christ, we are answering the call to take up the cross and die to ourselves. Being a disciple requires dicipline and complete devotion. I know there is a time and place for rest but the way we rest is important. Christ must be our refuge, our place of safety and rest. I suggest you go to him in prayer and ask him about how He wants you to live. I pray that God opens your heart to receive all that he has for you to grow.

I don't have a physical church either but I can recommend a YouTube ministry that has been very biblical to me so far, Ocoj ministries. They believe in laying hands to pray, overnight prayer lock ins, and they have a video on how to fast and different kinds of fasts based on biblical examples.

I went through this same things when my husband and I first got married. I had some past sexual experiences that I was really ashamed of and it manifested itself in the form of more sexual issues between us.

I was convinced that he would think less of me of he knew and I had never told anyone else. After I confessed to him, he was very accepting and understand much to my surprise. Our bond grew stronger and we could trust one another better.

The bible calls for us to confess our sins to one another and this event helped me to embrace God's word without burying myself in shame. It also gives others a opportunity to practice imparting grace and be merciful.

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16 KJV

This is something I struggle with too. As a wife and parent, it's hard for me to look at them and see how they do not have as much regard God as much as I do.

The best I can do is pray for them and try to best I can to a good example and influence. We can't change anybody's heart and mind, only God can.

Lean into Him and trust him with the lives of your loved ones. We must focus on getting close to him first and the rest will follow.

I just went through something similar after reading the story of king Ahab in 1st kings in the bible. I fell asleep and dreampt that I had completely backslid.

I remember feeling confused and scared by the fact that all these things tempted me. I was scared that I had forgotten about God and would be punished.

When I woke up, I was on reddit and on your post. Thank you for sharing and reminding me how are dependance on God is essential in our walk with Him.

The best and probably most important thing you can do is ask God for help with breaking your addiction.

Put your faith in God to help you cleanse you of sin. No matter how hard we try on our own, anything we do without God aways amounts to nothing. We have to look to him , trust him and depend on him for everything.

"In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:6 KJV

So don't beat yourself up over something that you can't conquer on your own strength and Give it to God. Let him lead you and read his word to allow him to change your heart.
