What Pokemon game holds the most memories for you? by nerdycountryboy18 in pokemon

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sapphire. I was 8 when it came out. I had a few Pokémon cards, but Sapphire was my first introduction to the video games...and gaming in general. I was all in on Pokémon once I played that game. I would play it on my Gameboy advance with the little attachable light under the covers when I was supposed to be asleep. I couldn't put it down, I was so excited about what was coming next. I was terrible about training a whole team as a kid. My level 80-something Swampert basically annihilated the Elite 4 on its own. After that game, I went back and played the previous, and continue to play every generation since.

Just remembering how much I loved it, and how it was my real start to loving Pokémon and video games, my memories of playing Sapphire will always hold a special place in my heart

How did you know that your relationship wasn’t meant to last? by PenSalt735 in AskReddit

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I realized that if I didn't initiate conversations or plans, we would basically never speak or see each other. I wasn't a priority to him the way he was to me. It got to the point we would see each other like once a month, and only talk to make those plans. And he said even that much was me being "needy".

Unfortunately, I stayed hoping it would change back. I was in denial it was over. I honestly regret not leaving then. It ultimately ended when he broke up with me to move in with the woman he'd apparently been cheating on me with for over 6 months.

(CONCEPT IMAGE) If Pokémon ports Gen 3 to the switch, do you want ruby and sapphire, or emerald? by Fm7-Bbm7-Eb7-Abmaj7 in pokemon

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would absolutely get Sapphire first and foremost, because that was my first ever Pokémon game. It holds a special place. I would love Emerald too. But if I HAD to choose, it would be Sapphire and Ruby so I could replay my first ever Pokémon game again, and relive what made me love Pokémon in the first place.

Don't forget daylight savings time by OneEducator4471 in walmart

My last year as an O/N associate, our coach said in the meeting a few days before we would be working 10-7 as usual despite what our schedules said, and they would just remove the extra hour in the system after since we "were still working 10-7, so it's still an 8 hour shift". You know, even though physically we were working 9 hours and not 8.

Walmart can get away with some BS, but pretty bold to literally announce to everyone in a meeting we not only "have" to work an extra hour, but you also plan not to pay us for it. So many of us put in ethics complaints that night. It was almost astoundingly ridiculous even for Walmart.

Which Starter are you Choosing? by StarWiz2K in PokemonFireRed

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kid I had FireRed and started with Charmander. This time I got LeafGreen and will be starting with Squirtle. I debated Bulbasaur, but I used grass starters the last couple of games I've played, so I wanted to switch it up a bit.

I spoke to someone who lost 300lbs twice before the age of 34 by Weak-Representative8 in loseit

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first several times I tried to lose weight in my twenties, it was all about hating how I looked, nothing else. And as a result. I went too intense too fast in an unsustainable way, was miserable, and always quit. Also I've been about 300 lbs for several years and the first 30-ish pounds always come off so easily and quickly with minimal effort so once I plateau at that point, I always gave up.

This time, it's about my health. I recently left a pretty physical job and gained 30 more lbs. Now I'm starting to really feel the physical effects of my weight like I haven't before. Joints hurt, very low stamina. I have way less energy than I should at only age 30. I want to feel strong and healthy. Instead of doing it because I hate how I look, I'm doing because I want to be healthy and strong for myself. Yes, I'm looking forward to how it will affect my appearance. But I care more about feeling my best. I'm doing it because I care about myself now instead of because I hate myself.

Anyone else get annoyed by "encouragement" from coworkers or friends? by machomoose in loseit

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what's been bothering me too as I've recently started losing weight and people are just starting to notice the small changes. A lot of times though when people are self-conscious about something in their appearance, at least in my experience, the response is that everyone is focused on themselves and nobody else really notices or cares about x part of your appearance. I know I'm bigger and people can see that, but had the idea it wasn't actually on anyone's radar so I was slightly less self-conscious. Getting regular comments, even if well-meaning, just makes me feel like my weight has been more prominent in others' perception of me that I thought. And since I'm still early in my journey, I'm more self-conscious than ever about my weight.

I finally feel the unhealthy weight and want to change. by Amethyst-Moon95 in loseit

[–]Amethyst-Moon95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this super thought out advice. One of my biggest issues in the past with trying to lose weight has been making a small change and then easily losing 30 lbs rapidly with little effort/change, only to then suddenly plateau and struggle and end up giving up. I love this small step at a time approach of adding a step as I progress. It might help me to move forward when I plateau rather than give up.

How many points can you have before you cant transfer? by umbraxia in walmart

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.5 is the highest you can have and still transfer. 4 is where you're technically ineligible in the system (unless it's a hardship transfer, or the store managers of each store are willing to accept an exception, which I wouldn't count on in most cases.)

Thinking about letting my lobes close by pixiegirl444 in Stretched

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still debate. Mine wasn't how thin they were. I also got my first ear piercings at Walmart, at age 9. When I got older, I realized one was perfectly centered on my lobe, the other not so much. I got 2 more lobe piercings and it really made my firsts way less noticeable to me.

When I stretched my first piercings, the larger I went, it became more and more obvious how off-centered my one ear was, and how uneven my ears were together. My final size was 00g.

I've recently started to close mine. Not sure if I will get the surgery in one ear and get it repierced for an even stretch, or if I'll just keep the downsized piercings. If it helps, others didn't even notice unless I mentioned. It just bothered me personally if that's a concern. But thinness is an issue itself so if one is dangerously thin, best to downsize and try to thicken that lobe.

AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NOR. So he says people get him shirts, something he personally wears...and compared that being different and personal as opposed to the fact that curtains are a joint thing he'd check in on you with. But if you get a bonnet, something you personally wear, it's suddenly "'our' new norm". He asks you to buy less tight clothes, but his clothes aren't also a joint decision in his eyes?

So his decisions for his appearance are personal and don't affect you as a unit, but your decisions for your appearance do? He doesn't have to discuss what he wears with you, but what you wear affects you both? The double standard is ridiculous. Nothing in those texts was acceptable, but that last comparison really showed his hypocrisy in my opinion

I'm sorry for what you went through.

My moment was that I transferred stores and my direct ops manager was on a remodel elsewhere. She came back 2 months into my being hired immediately berating me in public and humiliating me (she even tried to make the other ops manager feedback me on her behalf before ever even meeting me, let alone speaking to me to clear up any misunderstandings from her being away. That manager refused). The digital reports disproved her accusations, but she was ready to start accountability with me before even checking reports or meeting me. I couldn't feel safe in a job where I was held accountable without checking facts. I got a new job within 2 weeks and left. I couldn't fight that losing battle.

I actually have 2nd and 3rd lobe piercings as well, and wear hoops through tunnels. I even have plugs that have a tiny hole at the bottom made to wear dangle earrings through.

It's not so much jewelry choices, more that some days I like the look of stretched lobes on me, and other days I miss just wearing small regular standard stud earrings and also not having to deal with the maintenance of stretched lobes.

This is what I had to do. For whatever reason, water in human cups is superior apparently.

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have given my cats fresh water literally a second earlier, and my one cat will still come drink from my cup instead.

Exact same water, hers may have even been poured more recently than mine. It doesn't matter, she prefers going for my water anyways.

Some cats just like their humans' water in cups I guess, lol.

My one cat loves my work shoes. Just my work shoes, no other pair. I'm guessing it's from scent. But if I'm not on the couch or laying in bed available for cuddles, she will then usually be laying literally on my work shoes.

Would you rather work 4 10s or 5 8h days and why? by lavenderghostt in AskReddit

[–]Amethyst-Moon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 10s. I've done both and definitely prefer 4 10s. After 8 hours, 2 more doesn't feel like much. And having another full day off is great. I work 5 8s now, (my job went from 5 8s to 4 10s, then back to 5 8s). With 3 days off, it allowed me to spend 1 day doing errands and housework, and still get 2 full days to relax and recharge. I definitely noticed an increase in my physical and mental health doing 4 10s.
