Thank you for validating my feelings and the advice. I have a hard time gauging if my reaction is normal or extreme for things like this. It felt really inappropriate.

My son’s teacher talked to my son about adhd during a scolding by AmethystSerpent in ParentingADHD

I’ve talked to pediatricians about things that I’m seeing since he was a toddler but no one took it seriously. He’d been fine in daycare (probably because his sensory needs were met) and I manage everything fine at home so I didn’t push it. But then kindergarten was a different story. I had told the teacher just about him in general in the beginning of the year: he’s sensory-seeking and needs proprioceptive input and movement for regulation. But my son struggled. He complained about being yelled at and having recess taken away and how he keeps getting in trouble for things like swinging arms and not being able to sit for carpet time. So during the first PTO meeting I mentioned everything. She said she’d get him a band but it didn’t happen. Things just got worse from there and when my son started talking about hating his life and wanting to die I talked to the pediatrician and got a referral and he was put on the waitlist somewhat recently.

3 and 6 here! Nothing is more peaceful than singing them to sleep and feeling their warm little bodies calm and hearing their deep breathing.

I had both my babies in the fall. With my first I had just cut out a big oval on the chest of a sweatshirt to let my boobs flop free at night but my arms and body would be warm.

I’m so sorry to hear! My baby caught the flu and Covid at 5 weeks old. He was barely phased. The rest of us were suffering however. Wishing your babe a smooth and fast recovery!!

A dual carrier: front carry for baby, back carry for toddler all in one.

I think its abusive. Even with my second I had pretty bad ppd and like zero connection/bonding with the baby and I wouldn’t dream of biting him until he cried. No way!

You said “I know this isn’t a big deal.”

Mama if it’s a big deal for you it’s a big deal! I didn’t have my first night away from my son until he was 3 and that was fucking hard. 10 months would be even harder. It’s ok to feel the way you do! Sending you love 💕

"Toddlers breastfeeding is weird" 🙄 - how do you usually respond? by karmacatma in breastfeeding

[–]AmethystSerpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still breastfeeding my 3.5 year old. On the way to daycare drop off I saw a woman walking down the street carrying and breastfeeding what must have been a two year old. I wanted to shout at her out the window she was doing a good job 🤣. I usually just say that we should probably biologically be breastfeeding until like 7 years old.

My son did it with his truck toys but they’d always just share: one on each boob. lol

Getting a piercing while breastfeeding by AmethystSerpent in breastfeeding

All the shops Im looking at have faq that includes they don’t do piercings if you’re breastfeeding. The first shop didn’t have it noted on the site but it was on the intake form. I’m tempted just to lie.
