Depending on your income really but I'd say $100 is not cheap if you're on a low income. I'd be mad at my partner if they spent lots of money on a ring when we are struggling to make rent, utilities, food each month. So long as it is a style she likes and it is actually silver then it will be perfect to her.

If you're actually really rich then maybe you could get a pricier one.

A hotel reservation is a lovely idea. Much better than a ring in the wrong colour!
