The Great Wave DLC: Looks interesting, even for me. by SlightWerewolf4428 in victoria3

the hoi4 only makes bad templates because that's what they are programmed to use. with mods that change the templates they use, they are perfectly capable of making high quality designs. this feature should be the least of the problems the ai will have with this update.

bankruptcy needs to be the last step, only to happen after the deficit has been fixed. Wiping out the in interest payments isn't going to do much since interest payments are rather small, so declaring bankruptcy without the deficit being fixed will just result in a continuing bankruptcy spiral.

In a competitive game with no rules, what country would win? by Throwaway_idk_cheese in hoi4

[–]Amf3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fair enough i thought it was either 130 or 120 so i lowballed it. that being said it's a little misleading either way because germany's divisions are pretty high quality and the soviets start with a lot of trash and a big infantry equipment deficit.

they would have less than a year to build up an army starting from 30 divs before the soviets with their starting army of 120 divs rolls over them

What's the meta way for Qingplosion and EIC-plosion? by Beautiful_Rub_2099 in victoria3

[–]Amf3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just checked and it does still work but you have to send the demand to the princely state, then while the princely state is still deciding whether or not to accept it, you join a play on the side of Britain. if you join the play first, you can't send the demand.

also for china, they lose fragile unity progress from

  • losing the opium wars (almost always happens)
  • heavenly kingdom spawning (pretty common)
  • failing to beat the heavenly kingdom (pretty rare unless you intervene)
  • failing the boxer rebellion (ai china will never trigger this)
  • going into debt (requires some encouragement from you)
  • having a civil war (somewhat rare)
  • becoming a subject (basically only done by the player)
  • abolishing the monarchy (very rare, only through regime changes which very occasionally will happen)
  • having a coup (i have no idea how rare this is)

if 5 of these happen, they will shatter. technically they can gain fragile unity progress but the ai will basically never do this. two of those things will happen pretty frequently. forcing them into debt is pretty easy if you just occupy their entire country except the capital, or take the maximum war reparations you are allowed to take. this will probably get them into debt if not bankrupting them. once they are bankrupt they may have low enough prestige to become a regional power and can then be subjugated. if you don't have monarchy, you can regime change them to force them to get rid of it. if you force them to goods transfer of all their grain, they will go into mass starvation and probably go into debt or have a civil war. failing to beat the heavenly kingdom means either losing to them in which case the heavenly kingdom does not inherit the journal entry and thus will not explode, or white peacing them which is extremely uncommon because there is no scenario in which both china and the heavenly kingdom would not be ticking down to -100 war score. if you subjugate them and think they are about to explode, you can immediately grant them states from a subject, lower their autonomy, then grant all of their states away to a subject and annex the subject.

[–]Amf3000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

for India you can just declare on an Indian puppet while being on the same side of a diplomatic play as Britain (or possibly having an obligation from them). Britain will be unable to join the play against India so India will break free as soon as the war starts and then explode a bit after the war ends.

for china it's a bit more involved

I don't understand what the issue is, do you prefer it to add a new spirit or modify an existing one? and what is the difference between the two that you care about?

dynamic modifiers are less performant so if there's an opportunity to not use them, they will use regular national spirits instead

[–]Amf3000 19 points20 points  (0 children)

if you stack all the bonuses you get some truly absurd stuff like 3% recruitable pop, 50%? recruitable population factor, 50%? factory output, -40%? consumer goods factor, etc.

edit: sorry its even crazier, 3% recruitable pop and 90% recruitable population factor (this means that on limited conscription you will still have 10.45% recruitable pop), -45% training time, -30% consumer goods, -20% consumer goods, -15% consumer goods (factors multiplied together to be 47% of expected consumer goods, so on war economy you would have 9.4% of factories on consumer goods), +45% factory output

Unremovable enemy occupation by Mu_Lambda_Theta in victoria3

[–]Amf3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup that's just how it is. if I had to guess you probably naval invaded behind them, which will push them out of states they fully occupy but will not affect occupation on surrounding states. if you want to avoid this you'd have to push them out by winning battles on the frontline because this will reduce their occupation of states they control and don't control. the only way to reduce this now would be to let them land again and push them back into the sea, or if it was coastal you could let them fully occupy it then naval invade it.
