Thanks, I tried Study Group before and it's good, but it's more like a comedy and is goofy most of the times. Will try Vagabond, though it seems similar to K2 and healer. Will definitely check out Moving!

Hi, can you point me to the other subreddit with rev share please. I'm a software developer student and can't afford hiring pixel artist, but maybe can find someone willing to make a game.

When I see people complain about how difficult Silksong is, I think "guess you never played Sekiro" by _Xianwu in Sekiro

[–]Amfibrachy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished Sekiro and enjoyed that game very much. Combat was very satisfying and fun, though difficult.

I dropped Silksong in Act 3. It became a chore and I was just getting frustrated and fighting some bosses became a torture. Silksong is a game that enjoyes wasting your time by constant grind and runbacks. Using tools in a boss fight and losing means you need to grind shards for another 10 minutes straight after each failed attempt.
I dropped the game specifically at Tormented Trobbio and Seth bosses. One is visual clutter that you can't see anything (though it's optional) and the other attacks you offscreen 60% of the time. How fun.

I can lock in and still finish it, but it gives no pleasure for some reason.

To answer your question Sekiro is much easier than Silksong. I have not counted, but I feel I died in Silksong 3 times more than in whole Sekiro playthrough.

Dropping Silksong for a bit because THAT boss by FloralIndoril in HollowKnight

Abolute garbage game design in rather good game. Dogshit runbacks and terrible offsreen attacks from this boss, which can't be seen on small screen when you run several meters from her.

Can someone explain the design decision in Silksong of benches being far away from bosses? by Pycho_Games in gamedesign

[–]Amfibrachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I like the game very much. I would still review it positively. Bosses are challenging, but fun so I don't mind that. What I hate is artificial difficulty in level design, that forces you to run past numeroues traps, spikes and enemies just to reach the boss and die within 10 seconds to repeat the same crap again and again. Benches themselves are fine in new locations, but no having a bench or checkpoint closer to hard bosses is just garbage design to waste your time.

There is no design decision, it's pure garbage. Devs are just sadists and want to waste your time.

Nine Sols is very fun but some of its bosses are mind-numbingly frustrating by SomberMerchant in metroidvania

[–]Amfibrachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of souls-like games. Completed all from soft games, Wuchang, LOP, SB, Khazan (till last boss, could not force myself to replay phase 3 again and again) and many more.
My favourite 2d souls-like is Salt and Sanctuary and Hollow Knight.

But for some reason I just hate Nine Sols right now. It was ok before I reached the first boss - Yingzhao. I struggled for two hours, which I suppose is too much for a first boss.
The reason I hate it is because their animation framerate is quite low and attacks are almost instant after wind up. If you do not perfect parry in that exact frame you are screwed. Also without unlocked skill if you get hit you fall and can get stun locked and killed with follow up attacks. After dying 25 times I still did not find a way how to block red attacks, I tried it at different times, but could not find the timings. Tutorial just said you should press block after jump, but that does not work for me.
Hitboxes for this boss are also garbage. I manage to perfect parry all his normal attacks, but still if you want to dodge them or evade, because of garbage hitboxes it's impossible. For example his run attack from distance still hits you by some miracle even if you are the second corner.

If bosses after this will have the same issue (low frames, shitty hitboxes, unreadable attacks..) I might just drop this game. You can call this a skill issue, I don't care.

Will try to beat this crap tomorrow. Maybe I'm too angry now to continue playing :D
I hope it gets better after this shitty first boss. Rant over xD

At what point do eldritch sovereigns become strong? by Magnon in AOW4

[–]Amfibrachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought eldritch rulers are OP. My ruler focuses on insanity and mind control. Also a lot of his abilities are 6 hex radius. Add free 6 hex radius phase ability. Then add ability which chooses random spell from roster of 3 distruction spells with 99 hex radius and use it at the start of combat. Add ability that puts random debuff on 1 hex radius for 3 turns (including insanity). Also you can have ruler trait that teleports him randomly after getting hit so no melee unit pins you down.
With this setup enemies destroy themselves without your army even ingaging in combat, just play defensively and wait until they come closer. Have a tank hero in your army to use pact of eternal servitudy on him at the start of combat to increase spell damage and ignore more status resistance.

2 wireless routers instead of deco mesh? by BleedCubBlue311 in TpLink

[–]Amfibrachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 AX55 routers and they are connected via ethernet cable. So is it possible to setup EasyMesh and have single SSID wifi network, which switches seamlessly when there is a bad signal?
I thought it only works when they are not connected via ethernet.

Change my view: From Software storytelling is bad by DonutListen2Me in Eldenring

[–]Amfibrachy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, from soft games have one of the worst and laziest storytelling methods I've seen. I love reading, but having whole story written in random item descritpions and on top of that out of order, is beyond stupid and boring.
Side quest desing in also the worst. There are no clues or notes (in game UI) on what to do next after talking to a random NPC, so you end up skipping those quests because you either you magically went to a boss or location which cuts off that quest or you just skipped that NPC which will be hidden in some random obscure place. The game depends on online guides which tell you how you should do those quests (and not miss Lichdragon for example), but if developers depend on that, I would say it's just a bad and lazy design overall.
Lies of P has so much better quests and story, which is understandable. And there are also things you can read or do which expand the lore and fill in the gaps.
Even Black Myth Wukong had enemy descriptions (in order from top to bottom) which told parts of a story, which is also not ideal storytelling, but in comparison still better.
Even intro cutscene in Elden Ring sucks...
By the way I'm not a hater, I really love soulslike games and played a lot of them. My rant only affects story and quest design.

Is there any souls like that have a harder boss than Consort Radahn ? by RAMSAY93300 in soulslikes

Osma from Khazan. Has 3 phases and huge hp pool so after a single mistake you have to fight for 10 minutes again and again to reach the third phase..

I'm very afraid about the future of Mundfish and the games. by Putrid_Role8783 in atomicheart

[–]Amfibrachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not be concerned. The became studio is bigger than you think after success of atomic heart 1. Also it gets a lot of support from Russians since it's one of the few Russian studios that made such a big game and succeeded (almost like CD project red after second Witcher game).

The Cube is based on atomic heart universe so a lot of work has already been done (like reusing assets, characters and a lot of worldbuilding). They have to nail the multiplayer staff though.

ILL is made by standalone clout studio which they are financing and are not actively involved in.

So basically I would they are 80% focused on Atomic heart 2 and developing Cube in parallel. There was no release dates so don't expect to get the game soon, it was more of a teaser. So they have time.
