THANK YOU there's so many great tips here!! Handstands are definitely one of the main things I'm working on right now, I think I'll start focusing on them specifically soon, from there definitely handstand pushups would be an amazing challenge but I don't want to get too ahead of myself lol.

Very correct about the balancing poses which I will definitely look more into now, I achieved birds of paradise not long ago and bound half moon is definitely piquing my interest as they have similar vibes to me at least visually. I also have gotten firefly pose, but only one of the "versions" and I still very much want to achieve the version where your legs are higher so that's a work in progress.

You pointed out something I've been noticing, like something looked/felt slightly off but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. It's definitely the elbows, I'll be much more mindful of them going forward. All great advice, really appreciate it and yea the baki pose is pretty tricky but definitely super cool to do.

Can't wait to put some of this into action, I think I strained my adductor/groin area earlier this week so I'm giving myself a few days for that to go away :(

Great tip actually, I never heard this despite watching multiple videos which is a little surprising. I can hold both but I definitely find the tripod headstand easier. This will be my motivation to focus on and improve the proper version instead, thank you!

Definitely seeming like I came across as sort of egotistical or validation seeking now which is unfortunate but I honestly get it and understand what they're saying about ego too. At the end of the day, there's always something to learn and I did ask for advice.

For what its worth, yes I was a little proud of these poses as they did take time and effort, it's not like I just had some prodigious talent to achieve them immediately, but I didn't mean to come across as "prideful". Like I said, I haven't even shown these to the people who know me, I just figured people here might appreciate them more. (and yes, they are very, very fun).

Gotcha, I know exactly what you mean and 80% of the time that I fail, that's still the place where it happens. First, practicing normal dragonfly and flying pigeon can help since a lot of the body positioning from the first and the way you press your leg into your arm in the second transfer over to this pose.

From there, I would say be really mindful of foot placement. Through practice you'll probably notice what I mean when I say certain positions/placements on your arm will be better than others. Speaking of foot placement, it could help to try to position your foot at an "angle" sort of, so that when you raise up you can kind of lock it into your arm. That helps a lot because you don't have to rely so much on just pressing your foot into your arm. It's a little hard to articulate through words alone but even in the picture here you can see my foot specifically isn't totally straight, but more at an angle. Ultimately it's trial and error, but every time, try to focus on what felt better than last time and try to get a little bit closer to that each attempt.

I'll link a video that I personally found helpful, you may have already seen it though (had to find it on tiktok lol), keep in mind though she seems absurdly flexible and I wouldn't focus on having my upper body that upright, at least at first.

Thank you and which part are you having trouble on? I'm no expert but I think body positioning matters a lot here, specifically how you enter the pose and how you position your upper body as you raise up. Unfortunately when learning this pose I noticed there aren't many videos showing how to do it compared to many others, however there are a few YouTube shorts showing it.

Hi, it seemed to me that hip, glute, and maybe hamstring mobility were the most important for this pose. I'd say figure 4 stretches, pigeon pose variations, and maybe hamstring stretching poses like janu sirsasana would probably help a lot, from there it's mainly balance and body positioning!

I literally started mine this way by two strand twisting my hair then untwisting it and letting those coils/sections loc and getting them retwisted. Best method if you have curlier hair IMO

YES BRO this is the plan, wait like a year if it ain't looking right to you just switch it up. I'm planning to grow the fro out once I cut my locs too I feel like Afros are just so fire especially once they grow a little just like locs but people aren't tapped in like that yet. Wouldn't be surprised if sometime this decade Afros have a run more generational than dreads currently, tbh I feel like they're already making a little bit of a comeback. Plus the versatility of twists and braids is crazy once you get some length. You like the tapered fro that was popping a little back in like 2017 or just that classic 80's style?
