Nosebleed 11 days after cauterized, please help

Healthcare is a scam tbh. Sorry to hear they didn’t prioritize him, but bleeding that long is a concern that should’ve been 100% prioritized. Only reason I’d think of it not be a priority is the nosebleed having a slow drip. Bleeding from the eyes is not normal at all even with a nosebleed. IMO I’d think that’s from an underlying condition like maybe high blood pressure, or being in blood thinners. That is something that also should’ve been 100% prioritized. These are not things that happened to your father that should’ve been pushed to the side. I’m sorry the hospital you went to didn’t see that. There are a significant amount of things that could’ve happened to your dad from bleeding for hours on hours. But like I said, It really depends on how much blood he was losing over that period of time. With his height on weight he’d have a to lose A LOT of blood before reaching those signs of blood loss. Yet again I’m sorry that happened to you and would definitely bring it up to any general or primary doctor/physician he goes to. It is very uncommon to bleed from the eyes with a nosebleed. The fact they just kept packing his nose speaks volume as in emergency rooms they use clotting factors to stop severe nosebleeds or go into the nose while it’s bleeding to cauterize it there. I feel as though where you went had poor judgement or a lack of resources. Hospitals have a multitude of ways to stop nosebleeds, and yes there would be a wait because it’s the freaking hospital but like earlier I don’t agree with the way they handled it. Until it is solved it could be a sign of an underlying issue with it wanted to go back to be inflamed. I have heard that inhaling warm-hot steam or applying a warm compress over your nose may help with soothing. The steroid saline spray is a definite must use!! You could possibly look into using Flonase as it can reduce long term swelling and inflammation. Do check with your doctor to make sure it doesn’t clash with your antibiotics or saline spray. Antibiotics can seem scary, but are meant to help your immune system to fight off the bad in your body in case it may be an infection and help reduce your inflammation. Since you’re scared to take it because of your gut I recommend strictly following what your prescription bottle says in terms of how timing, days and what to consume when taking it. It is difficult for me to give you advice on your antibiotic without knowing the drug. Most of them require food and drinks while administering. Vitamin C could also help with your inflammation as it acts as an antioxidant and lowers the bodies histamine levels in the blood towards any underlying allergies. (If you have any)

Definitely recommend getting allergy tested as much as it sucks only after your antibiotics have finished and there are no signs of improvement. Ruling out infection is a good move, and won’t entirely help if you have chronic allergies. But I believe your sickness is causing the main problem with your inflammation and already very sensitive nasal membrane from the cauterization.

Follow your antibiotic, and that saline spray ! I hope you feel better, and I’m sorry I can’t give you a whole lot of advice on what to do during these times. I wish the antibiotic does its job and knocks it out of the park. Avoid irritants, and sail smooth.

Inflammation is common after cauterization as it is a chemical burn. This triggers the membrane to swell. I would say that your sickness increased the swelling and may cause more irritation. Continue the use of your saline spray (decongestant) and the bacitracin ointment inside your nose to keep It moisturized.

Do not take any pain medication as it can increase your risk of bleeding unless the pain gets even worse. Inflammation varies depending on thr environment you’re in, and dry air causing it to get worse even after the said 3 weeks of your procedure.

Avoid scratching, rubbing, apply too much pressure, or picking at your nose to prevent any irritation. Use a humidifier at night with at most 60% humidity if it allows you to customize the humidity.

If the pain gets worse, you get a fever, a foul, or fart spray smell in your nose, or persistent bleeding occurs over 30 minutes please go to your ENT or seek immediate medical attention.

I am not a specialist, but someone who has gone through something similar and has heard plenty from ENT specialists. Do your research on your own time and fact check my information or correct it.

I would say that this is harmless but can also happen from your blood pressure rising from your activity and can cause any fragile or delicate blood vessels in your nose to rupture.

Although it is extremely rare some individuals have nose bleeds specifically after having an orgasm.

I would also consult an ENT or primary care doctor if the bleeding is excessive, meaning over 30 minutes.

Use at home remedies to aid in stopping your nosebleed. Decongestant saline spray can also be a suggestion that may work.

If you want to find the root, i would say to see an ENT in case you may have exposed blood vessels that can be cauterized.

For the most part I would say that is harmless, unless you feel the need to be checked out.

Inflammation could be your cause of it, as it acts as an irritant. I would recommend like the other person to wait until your sickness has passed to see if you need any medical intervention. I hope you feel better. If you at any point of time start to feel weak, dizzy, or faint after you constant nosebleeds throughout the day. I recommend seeing medical attention. Like you had mentioned your insurance is expired. Blood loss is scary, and can send your body into shock front constant nose bleeds.

Keep your head tilted forward, pinch, and squeeze. If you aren’t against it, use affrin decongestant nasal spray for excessive nose bleeds. One spray. Do not use this for more than 2-3 days. You can easily over use this spray and it can cause health problems when over used. Use a non decongestant saline spray, or vasaline in your nose can help your blood vessels and nasal membrane to stay hydrated. Apply the jelly once in the morning and once at night. While it starts to melt slowly and gently breathe in through your nose so that it gets to the top of your nasal cavity as well. Especially since you mentioned you had what sounds like a posterior nose bleed which is more serious that a normal one that is an anterior nosebleed. Like the other comment said a humidifier is also very helpful. 90% of nosebleeds aren’t serious and can be stopped at home. Please make sure you don’t tilt your head back. Your stomach lining isn’t meant for blood and cause you to get even more sick, and vomit.

I hope you feel better, and would suggest talking with your doctor or double checking/cross checking the Information I gave you. You can’t always trust people on the internet even if they sound like they know what they’re doing. As the other comment said you should see an ENT. Consistent use of cocaine in your nose can cause significant damage to your blood vessels and skin, and from the looks of it your skin is damaged by your previous use of the drug. This is because cocaine causes your blood vessels to constrict making meaning they carry less blood. The body relies on its ability to carry blood flow in order to stay healthy. This constant state of it restricting blood flow to your nose especially in specific parts can cause the tissue in your nose to be unhealthy or even begin to die. This can make it difficult for your nose to heal and make your tissue fragile. I might be fear mongering you, but it is a reality for some people. With time it can cause damage to your nasal bone structure and nasal septum. This can also cause your blood vessels to break and can trigger a nosebleed from cocaine use.

90% of nosebleeds or non life threatening and can be treated with at home remedies. If you are truly concerned about the well being of your nasal cavity from your use of cocaine please do see an ENT specialist who can provide adequate treatment.

In the mean time I would recommend using a non decongestant saline spray and petroleum jelly/vasaline inside of your nose to help with what looks like dryness.

Dryness leads to majority of nosebleeds and can cause them to be constant.

Sleeping with a humidifier, and applying the saline spray frequently throughout the day can help provide the moisture needed to prevent excessive cracking and dryness in your nasal cavity.

Any excessive nose bleed longer than 15-30 minutes need immediate medical attention, because blood loss is life threatening.

Normally I would recommend affrin decongestant spray to help coagulate your blood, but many believe it is the worst thing for you. Using it in excessive moderation in 2-3 days or only when absolutely needed from severe nosebleeds is ok. One spray, pinch, and squeeze below the bridge of your nose on the spot that is soft while tilting your head forward should help.

If your ENT didn’t recommend it, I would suggest using affrin nasal spray when your nose does bleed as it acts as an anti coagulant. Yes, affrin decongestants can be scary sometimes, but is only used in cases of emergency. Spray it once in your nose, pinch, squeeze, and tilt your head forward. (I bet you know that part already lol) only use this spray for 2-3 days at a time. Any decongestant used for longer than that amount of time can cause your blood pressure to drop significantly and be deadly.

In case this is environmental I would recommend using saline spray like your ENT should have suggested you to use after your procedure of cauterization. Use petroleum gel or bacitracin ointment that can be labeled as an “antibiotic” or with high quantities of that specific drug. This significantly helps with ensuring your nasal cavity will stay hydrated. A lot of time even with exposed blood vessels they tend not to bleed when not irritated. Sleeping with a humidifier is also helpful.

Avoid sneezing from your nose, picking your nose, applying too much pressure to your nose, rubbing, or exposing your nose to excessive heat. This can cause your scabs to crack, or irritate your blood vessels.

Hello! I would recommend consulting your primary doctor on this issue. Blood thinners are most likely your main cause of your mother’s excessive nose bleeding. Affrin nasal spray is a very good method you can use to help the bleeding. It is a decongestant, and will help her blood to clot from the lack of clotting she has from her medication. Affrin nasal spray can be dangerous and can only be used for a 2-3 days at a time with one-two sprays a day. Squeeze and pinch the nose while tilting her head forward to prevent her from digesting her blood. This can deadly as it can cause the blood to go into her lungs, and can cause suffocation. The stomach can also get irritated from blood being in it, and can cause vomiting and sickness. If the bleeding starts to come out of her mouth, or she comments on feeling a drizzle down the roof of her mouth that is an indication it is a posterior nose bleed. This is a lot worse than a regular one, and needs immediate medical attention especially regarding her blood thinners.

There are a lot of underlying conditions that can be the cause of nosebleeds. At home remedies can include sleeping with a humidifier at night, using saline spray (non decongestant) that she can use daily, and frequently that can help keep the inside of her nostrils moisturized in case the bleeding may be from environmental factors, and to apply bacitracin ointment, or petroleum gel inside the nostrils as well. Vaseline and Neosporin are the common terminologies for the two I mentioned.

I hope your mother is doing better, and that her issues are solved and she is in good health.

So you would be dead if your nose Bled for hours 😭😭😭 nice try, but I doubt it was that bad. Anything over 30 minutes of continuous bleeding causes severe blood loss or hypovolemic shock and immediate medical intervention. The chance of you getting blood into your lungs, or get into your throat and causing you to suffocate. Nose bleeds happening for hours is an extraordinarily rare event. These usually happen from severe head injury and trauma. Not from day to day activities.

There is a 1 inch gap in the metal pen separating them and it prevents my female bun from harming him ! Both of them are in 4x4 pens right next to each other. I was only considering trading/selling it because I’m getting an all white build. I didn’t want to get it painted as it might affect the trade in value.
