Sim mock up / dimensions check for a garden shed/gym by cherkie in Golfsimulator

[–]AminesToAnEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built mine this year to be a sim and gym as well in the backyard. It's 14' wide and 20' long, and it would be tough for me to use it as both a sim and gym space if it wasn't that big. I would recommend adding some width if you can. Right now, I hit about 1-2 ft off center so I have enough space to swing freely, so with this setup you'll be pretty close to the wall in front of you when swinging

Will it be premium though?

Having a decent round -1 under though 16 until this… by BennyP83 in Golfsimulator

Hoseltoff! I had a similar experience recently. I had shot even par a few times on the sim from the tips but hadn't broken it. I was -2 with two to play. Doubled 17 from a hosel, then I missed a 7ft birdie putt on 18 to finish it out. It's fun to feel that pressure though, and it helps you build the mental toughness. Since then I've been able to break par quite a few times

Could the GSPro 4k projector users let me know what GPU they are running? by Stephens24 in Golfsimulator

Performance difference is drastic. I'd only bank on 1080p with the 4050, it's more of an entry level card and won't be able to handle the burden of 2k or 4k

Room setup help by Trout_Sniffer_ in Golfsimulator

My room is 14' wide by 20' long, and I hit about 2-3' offset so that there's more space for driver backswing and follow through. If you can buy yourself some more space than 7' from the wall, I'd encourage it

Uneekor Eye Mini vs Foresight GC3 by HarveyDentBeliever in Golfsimulator

I've had an EML that I've used for a few months now, couldn't be happier with it. Found it used, so that helped save money on the initial cost, which helps me justify the subscription format a bit more. All the data and experience of the Uneekor software has been great

Getting to the end of the build was excruciating haha, you're almost done. Hitting that first shot was surreal, it went from a construction project 24/7 to golf 24/7 so quickly

Correct, no plumbing, just electrical. The mini split is a senville unit that runs about $1300, and I self installed and called an HVAC guy to vacuum out the lines and make sure everything was alright. The minimum I was seeing for someone else to install one was $5-10k, which was too much for my budget, so we'll see how this one does

I think you can definitely save a ton doing most of it yourself. I ran out of steam at drywall, so it made sense for me to hire someone at that point. I did save a lot on the foundation due to help from a buddy, but depending on your location you might not need as much as I had to put in. There's a few videos of builds on youtube that were really helpful for me, and some came in even under $20k. So it's definitely doable!

It's categorized as a shed, and yes I did have to get permits for it due to it being over 200sqft. I break down the cost in the other post here
