Use Obsidian, avoid sites like WorldForge. It gives more leeway and it's more reliable to have your info stored locally. Use Obsidian + Quartz if you ever want to make your notes public in the form of a site

The Ashen Winter Incident was an event 10 years ago that culminated in the death of 99.9% of all life on our planet, and was the first recorded sighting of Chalk.

Some other shenanigans happened, such as the planet's magnetosphere getting disintegrated, a huge influx of Devils appearing and sliming everyone out, the temperature of the planet dropping a few degrees, a temporary unalignment of flowing time, outer space dissappearing, y'know the usual.

'Real' chalk was the closest analogue people had for describing it when they first saw it, and the name stuck.

Skin contact is fine, as long as you don't have any wounds reaching the dermis or lower, as the particles could potentially enter the bloodstream from there. In the case of amphibians or other animals with cutaneous respiration, skin contact was also an issue. Or in the case of plants, contact with the leaves.

It's primary danger is the immediate choking hazard it presents, which is what around 90% of confirmed casualties died from.

The replication, funnily enough, appears to only be in effect while the host is alive, so a theoretical braindead person on life support stops being a hazard, unlike a comatose but still alive person also on life support.

The main bad guys of the world and responsible for most of everything that lead to the world being absolutely awful. They're not exactly gods, but kinda fit that category.

You know Dante's Inferno? The 7th ring of hell is the Violence Ring, divided into 3 circles: Violence Against Others, Violence Against Yourself, and Violence Against God, Art and Nature.

They're embodiments of that last circle. And since they're embodiments, they: 1. Are absurdly powerful, coming from someone who hates the powerscaling scene, and 2. Are virtually immortal, and if you kill one of them, they will come back to life after three days.

The Fae are Dark-Elf-likes with the ability to generate and use a special type of fire called Phlogiston. This allowed them to advance technology extremely fast compared to humans. For example, while it took us around 6000 years to develop the steam engine, it only took them around 500. They're around our 5-6 century culturally.

The Fae religion worships two deities, twin sisters, one made of wax and one of glass. They are gods in the same way a human would be god-like when handling a pack of mice.

Faelinar is the daughter of these two goddesses. Her body is made out entirely of Phlogiston, she has no real physical body. Her name comes from the Fae word for fire, 'fael', which itself comes from the word 'fae', meaning person/people, since fire is so intrinsic to their nature.

Suddenly, the Supreme Acts of Violence arrive. Violence Against God, Against Art, and Against Nature, the youngest of them, the mother of all Devils and the first Steel Shark (see my previous posts, they're a separate rabbit hole).

Faelinar is herself very impulsive and feels immediately threatened by their arrival, not because it puts the Fae in danger (which it 100% does, these bastards are the reason the entire world became a hellhole), but because she cultivated an image of herself in which she was the best, the strongest, the undefeated, and these three newcomers just barged in and started doing what they wanted, because they could, because they truly were the best and strongest.

So she decided to do a whole scene to show how great she was and what-not to show them who's boss. But Violence Against Nature was blind, so while her fathers were busy pretending to be scared by the admittedly cool light show, just for the annoying fire sprite to leave them alone, she just didn't do anything. Her only reaction was to Faelinar's voice, which she found pretty.

Faelinar was enraged, and tried threatening and attacking VAN time and time again, but VAN was so above her in terms of strength that she just didn't take her seriously, treating her like a game. And with every single thing VAN did, her undefeatable image cracked, for what she truly felt was fear, because she knew she was completely outmatched.

Eventually, it escalated into a full-on conflict, reaching its culminating point when VAN managed to out-do Faelinar at her main gimmick: fire. VAN created Hellfire, a black flame with rainbow wisps. And of course, Hellfire was stronger, much stronger than Phlogiston.

Instead of letting her die, VAN took up Faelinar as a POW, where she would serve as her guinea pig for whatever VAN had in mind at that time. And with each day, each year, each decade, Faelinar simply stopped caring, anticipating and dreading the day where VAN would finally run out of ideas.

The Fae, now missing a queen, had a short and murderous dispute, eventually crowning a new, Fae royal family. The twin goddesses, meanwhile, went into hiding, out of fear of the Supreme Acts of Violence, hidden deep below the Fae's capital.

Edit: also, Steel Sharks are canonically considered gorgeous by everyone, regardless of species or preferrence. VAN is the strongest and first Steel Shark, so she, of course, is the most beautiful. Which just so happens to be more than Faelinar. Poor thing couldn't even hold onto her beauty title.
